Note: Sandisk players often list a hardware version on the case, but it is not always accurate. To be sure, you MUST check the firmware version installed on the player. That is the only way to be sure.
---+++ e200 series (e.g e250, e260 ...) and c200 series (e.g. c240)

If the firmware begins with 01.xx.xx, its a v1 player. If it begins with 03.xx.xx, its a "v2" player.

For a v1 player, if the USB options on your player are "MSC" and "MTP" it's non-R, if they're "Rhapsody" and "PlaysForSure" then it's R.

There is no v2 R player, so any R is a v1.

There is no c200 R player.

If the firmware begins with 01.xx.xx, its a v1 player. If it begins with 02.xx.xx, its a "v2" player.

There is only one clip+ version so far, but it is similar to the Clip v2 hardware, so a Clip+v1 is nearly identical to a Clipv2 except for the added SD slot and different button layout.

The F series lists the model number on the bottom of the front cover as well as on the back cover.
