The iPod Accessories Page

Introduction

This is a work-in-progress list of iPod accessories tested with Rockbox. Many accessories for the iPod which connect via the dock adapter do not work with Rockbox. This is because they use Apple's proprietary Apple Accessory Protocol, which is only partially implemented in Rockbox (and is only implemented for the 4G, 5G and Nano 1G). What follows is a list of accessories, and whether or not they work in Rockbox in any fashion at all.

Note: Please test with Accessory Power both off and on.

When adding information to the chart, please be kind and fill in the Model Number if you can. Many manufacturers have released different physical models under the same name, or confusingly similar names. Please also be nice enough to list the model of iPod you tested on as well.

Note - the ADC Reading column refers to the value shown in the Debug Menu, under "ACCESSORY:" . Entering this information into the table below will help the Rockbox developers to extend the Apple Accessory Protocol implementation in order to handle these devices better!

Devices that need retesting

On 2008-12-25, preliminary support for Ipod accessories was committed to Rockbox SVN, so devices tested before that might work better now. If you own one of the devices listed below, please re-test, and add your results to the table above.
