SansaC200Erase
---+!! Sansa C200 Erase %TOC% ---++ Introduction This page describes a Linux- and Mac-only method for completely erasing the C200's disk. This is useful when the recovery instructions described on SansaE200Unbrick fail to recover your device. ---++ Instructions *Note:* Following these instructions will erase all data on your device . %X% * If you have a c240, download [[%ATTACHURL%/c240erase.bin][c240erase.bin]]. If you have a c250, download [[%ATTACHURL%/c250erase.bin][c250erase.bin]]. * Download e200tool, as explained on the SansaE200Unbrick page. * Put your C200 in manufacturing mode (the same mode used with e200tool) and then run e200tool with the correct .bin file. * E.g. * =sudo ./e200tool recover c240erase.bin= * =sudo ./e200tool recover c250erase.bin= * This uploads and runs some code on your C200. This can take 45 minutes or more. You should see progress information on the screen. * When the erase is complete, it will prompt you to press a button to shutdown. Do as you're told. You may need to release hold first. * Perform an e200tool recovery using the instructions at SansaE200Unbrick * In the original firmware, reformat the flash (Format is in the Settings menu)
