gimp-savvy.com	This is a collection of 27,000 images from NASA, NOAA and FWS. (*)
PD Photo	Thousands of public domain images sorted into categories.
BurningWell	Another repository of public domain images. Searchable. images; searchable.
PUBLIC-DOMAIN-PHOTOS	Another collection of 5,000+ public domain images; categorized and searchable.

(*): I don't know if this is more convenient than the original archives or not.
