A comprehensive rework already done - a lot of good ideas in there, but it isn't perfect (IMO)

General comments. As an initial comment, I'd like to see this entire discussion consolidated with the existing MenuLayoutDiscussion page. I think that we should also give consideration to alphabetizing the menu items. Given the number of options and the broad (and growing) Rockbox user base, the original goal of setting menu order to reflect the items that are most used may be unrealistic. Discussion? Would there be problems with this approach with respect to languages other than English? To the extent my comments below include discussion of menu order, those are made with the assumption that menus are not alphabetized.

• Show WPS (while music is playing) [My preference would be to map the play button to invoke the WPS from within the menu system, which would make this menu option unnecessary. See patch 5294 (which needs to be rewritten in light of the recent action button implementation).]
• FM Radio [I would move items like FM Radio and Recording to a lower spot on the menu, and use higher spots for menu items applicable to all Rockbox platforms]
• Recording (No submenu)
• Playlist [given that the playlist is such an important concept in Rockbox, consideration should be given to making this the first item]
