00:02:49peturyes. I'm getting rid of the long long now....
00:03:45jhMikeSI think using shifts instead of the divides would help too with the power of two values

00:04:07peturyes, got that already in ;)
00:05:03jhMikeSwhere's the long long? searching it doesn't even turn up a "long"
00:05:50peturi needed it because recursive filesizes grow beyond a 32bit figure
00:06:57jhMikeSsomething's missing. I can't even find any in the patch. wtf
00:07:13peturthe bottom patch ;)
00:07:22jhMikeSoh
00:13:11jhMikeScould pass a structure pointer recursively and use only one parameter in _dir_properties to save stack space.

00:17:45peturdown at 1648 and counting :)

14:06:59Slasherihmm, does anyone know why 5.5G ipods are not supported yet? (i planned getting one of them)
14:08:27amiconnThere are 2 problems
14:09:04amiconn(1) 5.5G presents the drive as having 2048-byte sectors to the PC (via USB), so the filesystem is 2K-sectors based
14:09:25Slasheriok, so that would mean fixing the filesystem drivers
14:09:47amiconnThere is a patch that fixes it, but not properly integrated yet, and not bug free
14:10:27Slasherisounds reasonable enough.. just some work to make it work, but not too hard to do :)
14:10:31amiconn(2) The 80GB version seems to have a new ata controller. Trying to boot rockbox or ipl on an 80GB model just hangs
14:10:49amiconn30GB only has problem (1)

21:48:39n1sThe id3 viewer relies on a database that can have some roblems.
21:49:05kristinstickleIs there anyway to fix the database if there's something wrong with mine?
21:49:26n1sif you want to use the database try "initialize now"
21:49:43n1sthat will delete the database and start over.

21:50:22kristinstickleOkay, I was doing "Update Now". I should probably now set my iPod aside and wait a while.
21:50:25kristinstickleThanks!
21:50:37n1sbut udate first, because the database files were renamed yesterday so if you rebuild now you'd have to do it again if you udate later.
21:51:08kristinstickleWhat, update to the new Rockbox daily build?
21:51:13n1syes
21:52:02kristinstickleI've already selected "initialize now" though. Will I break anything if I update to the new daily build right now, or should I just wait for the tag cache to be ready, even though I'll have to do it again.

21:53:23n1swell, you can rename the files too so don't worry, :-) see http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=7469.0
21:54:24kristinstickleCool. Thanks!
21:54:44kristinstickleMy stupid problems aside, Rockbox is pretty amazing. I'm enjoying it. ^_^

22:08:20ndansmithwhenever my ipod reboots rockbox forgets its settings and I have to re-load them manually. is there a way to avoid this problem?
22:08:39rasherDo you by any chance have hold enabled when you turn it on?
22:08:44rasherThat'll reset the settings.
22:08:44scorcheare you booting with the hold switch on?
22:08:50rasherI win.

22:09:26ndansmiththanks!
22:09:59bluebrotherhmm. Why got the tagcache _files_ renamed? It's still internally called tagcache, so keeping the old filenames wouldn't have hurt ...
22:10:50rasherbluebrother: Mostly just because they're mentioned in the manual. To be honest I'm not quite sure why, beyond that

22:11:28bluebrotherhmm. As that is kind of advanced I'd have kept them. Anyway, too late now ;-)
22:12:17rasherI haven't seen any uproar about it
22:12:38bluebrotherbtw, what's the purpose of the oggmalloc that just got added? Better decoding of ogg files?

23:17:44amiconnI don't expect any problems
23:18:04amiconn(2) Do you know why the cpu stays boosted after boot when voice is enabled?
23:18:21amiconnIt's independent on whether a voice file is present or not

23:24:05jhMikeS(1) I guess I did...didn't see any problems. Did see problems before either. (2) No, it starts with automatic boosting so is caused by the scheduler (I know that much since I put a boost track on it).

23:37:27jhMikeSamiconn: 2.2V sounds good

23:43:21jhMikeSnow as far as why the scheduler would fail to unboost isn't clear. I know mp3_play_start calls trigger_cpu_boost and so does Q_VOICE_PLAY but the boost is only flagged the first time.
