04:22:05LloreanWell, Rockbox isn't in the habit of incorporating buggy patches into SVN intentionally
04:22:06drumthrasher109Oh, and for some weird reason, lately, rockbox has been really slow, like scrolling and stuff, its just really really slow, although the build is quite a bit old.
04:22:33scorcheyou use the word "lately", and yet you say it is quite old..

04:33:54scorchein fact, telling them to use that one means that more people will be coming to us for support on it (if they dont knwo it is supported), and it means that they might not see/help us with bugs on official versions which means that it might be a bit longer for bugs to be fixed

12:56:31markunthe problem is to find a way to reproduce the bug so it can be fixed
12:56:57McEnroeis there a way to stop playback? i mean dismiss the playlist and not just pause?
12:57:42markunMcEnroe: it should be in the manual, let me check
12:57:54McEnroemarkun: the problem is that i installed rockbox yesterday and i don't really know what i did. i just played with the setting
12:58:26markunMcEnroe: http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-ipodnano/rockbox-buildch4.html#x7-440004.3.1

13:00:12NIXON-Trent18fps is alright ey ?
13:00:16NIXON-Trentwould play fine
13:01:15markunif you have a ipod photo you could check howmany fps you get with the sample videos
13:01:18McEnroemarkun: doesn't work for me... if i go to "resume playback" i shall show "nothing to resume" but it resumes the same playlist
13:01:50markunMcEnroe: yes, if you stop playback you can still resume it later
13:02:06markunbut you can also choose to play some other tracks

13:04:24NIXON-Trentthey say 18fps is what u get on the ipod photo full screen
13:04:24markunstopping clears the playlist

13:44:17Learn1s: No, it's how gcc does the array index calculations. It chooses to use shifts and adds, because multiplications are considered to be slower. But the ColdFire CPU:s in question, it wouldn't be. So by correcting the multiplication "cost", gcc use multiplication rather than shift and add.

18:40:24lamedlinuxstb: the problem is that the server is so slow for me that I can't download a source. it was working for more then three hours and no source.
18:41:05linuxstbCan you grab the source from SVN?
18:41:48lamedno, that's the problem, i could get to download a part of the /tools folder but it goes very slow.
18:42:45lamedit's just a language update btw, I have to download it
18:43:02linuxstbHow many files have you changed?
18:43:07lamed1
18:43:19linuxstbThen you can just download that one file and do a diff.
18:43:28linuxstbOr checkout the lang folder by itself from svn
18:44:42lamedi don't think i can / I don't know how do i checkout only one folder or one file. you can go svn update if you are missing a file but that's after you have downloaded the full rapository
18:46:26linuxstbSomething like "svn co svn://svn.rockbox.org/rockbox/trunk/apps/lang/ lang" would checkout the lang folder into a local folder called "lang"
18:47:17***Saving seen data "./dancer.seen"
18:49:14lamedcan I go svn co svn://svn.rockbox.org/rockbox/trunk/apps/lang/hebrew.lang lang or what? it just doesn't do anything for me. I know i have a slow access to the server because i'm from israel.
18:50:21linuxstbChecking out the lang/ folder doesn't work?
18:51:10lamedno.. it stays foot for me. would you kindly upload the file for me? I have no other commits for the next four months...

19:52:14Buschelhi, what is the difference between IBSS_ATTR and IDATA_ATTR?
19:52:38linuxstbBSS is initialised to zero (so isn't included in the binary), DATA is initialised, meaning it is included in the binary.
19:53:21Buschelthanks
19:53:24linuxstbIf the initialised data is constant (e.g. lookup tables), they should be ICONST_ATTR

19:54:13Buschelyes, saw this in the code. will using IDATA_ATTR lead to higher performance an calculations, if used for often used variables?
19:55:22linuxstbGenerally speaking, on Coldfire, yes, on PP, no.

19:55:48Buschellinux: not on PP, thats a pitty...
19:55:52linuxstbBut it's important to remember that the stack is already in IRAM - so any local variables are in IRAM.
