15:25:26Nico_Pthis one crashes the player
15:26:07LearYes, but this is a borderline case. If it is way too long it causes a clean exit early on (from libm4a). Here it is libfaad that can't handle a NULL return from malloc.

15:31:48Nico_PDomonoky_: I've managed to gt a hold of v2.8.1... I'll build a package with it
15:32:22LearThere might be. Depends on what the decoder actually needs in terms of frame sizes. I.e., do libfaad need to know the size of a single frame (sample in QT terminology).
15:33:18LearIf not, libm4a could be rewritten to not simply load a bunch of tables into ram, but rather recalculate them into something smaller.
15:33:51Nico_PLear: that sounds complex... is it ?
15:33:54LearIt would mean reduced seek precision, but there could still be tens of thousands of seek points, so it wouldn't matter that much, I think.
15:34:29 Part TrueJournals

20:21:58peturplease read the manual: http://www.rockbox.org/manual.shtml
20:22:49n1sproog: just do it like when you installed rockbox, ie with oipodpatcher (rbutil works too but is not what's described in the manual)

20:24:58n1spetur: iiuc the long-term plan is to make rbutil the official supported method of installation, which means that it should get into the manual and replace the ipodpatcher/sansapatcher/fwpatcher stuff
20:25:50peturI even fail to find anything on rbutil in the wiki using just links (not searching)
20:27:25Soapis it ready for "primetime" - or should we still be directing people to the methods currently in the manual? I am not clear on this point.
