00:01:11kugeljhMikeS: which targets have headphone detection?
00:02:02linuxstbAll the ipods (I think), the Gigabeat, and (looking at its config file) the mrobe 100.
00:02:25rasherI think I saw mentioned that the 1st gen ipod doesn't

00:07:59kugeljhMikeS: With "should be able" you mean, that they could have it, but it's not defined for them yet?
00:09:35jhMikeSright. the AS3514 has a HP detect interrupt
00:10:42jhMikeSthough I'm not sure if it functions quite the way it's needed to
00:10:43amiconnHeadphone detection isn't enabled for all ipods which support it either
00:11:18amiconnThe biggest problem is the 1st vs. 2nd Gen. 1st Gen has no heaphone detection, 2nd Gen does - but they run the same build
00:11:54*amiconn sees no real point in it, hence didn't bother yet
00:12:07amiconnThere are more important bugs to fix on PP5002...
00:12:41*rasher would love hp-detection on sansa
00:13:47*jhMikeS is out with pp5002 since he broke the connector for the HP socket and hold switch on his and they want $45-50 dollars for them which is ludicrous :\ gotta be able to do better than that price.

00:19:59jhMikeSguess that's ipodparts.com, ifixit.com, repidrepair.com
00:22:51*amiconn has a spare 2nd Gen without hdd

I'd like that entire artist's tracks to replace the current playlist, is that possible? I know you can hold select and have it insert into the current playlist, but there isn't an option for it to replace the playlist. 18:21:48markunno, you run it on you computer and use it to convert video files
18:26:46Immortali assume the videos have to be converted into mpeg 2 right
18:26:59Immortaland if so can i use any program that converts them into mpeg
18:27:18Immortalor do i have to use winff
18:27:38Sammienatoryou can use winff
18:27:42linuxstbYou can use any program, if you configure it correctly.
18:27:58Immortalwell i use linux for mine
18:28:11Immortalwhich there is an issue with the window dissapearing
18:28:11linuxstbIt needs to convert the video to the resolution of your screen, convert the audio to 44.1KHz MP3 (or MP2) and multiplex the two streams into an MPEG Program Stream.
18:28:20linuxstbwinff has a Linux version (despite the name).
18:28:27Immortalyeah i know
18:28:39linuxstbBut you can just use ffmpeg or mencoder - I think that webpage LambdaCalculus37 linked to has instructions.

18:30:04Immortalok
18:30:09Immortalyeah ill give it a shot
18:30:23Immortalso you convert it and then just add them into your music folder or wherever

22:07:40amiconnThe sim can be built without the target toolchain for sure.
22:07:54amiconnThe question is whether a manual build works if you choose a sim
22:07:56kugelamiconn: No luck here too
22:08:12kugelnicktastique: right after typing make
22:08:23nicktastiquekugel, There is no output from the build process?
22:08:24kugelit didn't start to compile
22:08:28nicktastiqueNo error?
22:08:33amiconnkugel: I can usually get the pdf manual to build with some fiddling, but the html manual never worked for me
22:08:33kugelNot at all
22:08:39Bagderthen do 'make V=1'
22:09:21bluebrothermake manual-pdf works if you configured the build itself. I _think_ to remember the same working if configured for the sim.
22:09:37bluebrotherbut it's quite a while, my memory might trick me ...
22:10:57BiptoNdoes anyone use or would find one of these useful? http://www.ronetix.at/peedi.html
22:11:40BiptoNi mean if perhaps donated to someone that could use it to perhaps get access to a zune for porting RB
22:13:00nicktastiquekugel, You did install that 250 mb worth of tex-related packages, right?
22:13:06kugelno
22:13:19nicktastiqueyeah I think I know why your builds are failing.
22:13:34kugeljust tex-latex-recommended, didn't you tell me to install that one?
22:13:59bluebrotheryou need to have the koma-script package and utf8 support
22:14:05nicktastiquekugel,You should install: tetex-base tetex-bin tetex-extra latex-ucs
22:14:06kugelbut actually, I'm compiling it atm. V=1, as Bagder said seems to worjk
22:15:00BagderV=1 should just do more verbose ouputs...
22:15:02nicktastiquekugel, V=1 tells make to give you verbose output. make is doing the same thing it did before
22:15:18kugelah
22:15:22kugellol
22:15:48nicktastiqueYeah you'll need to install the monster packages :)
22:15:58kugelthen, it's doing "make -C /home/diablo/rockbox5/manual OBJDIR=/home/diablo/rockbox5/manual/manual
22:15:59kugelmake -C /home/diablo/rockbox5/manual/platform CC=gcc AR=ar
22:16:01kugelmake -C /home/diablo/rockbox5/manual/platform OBJDIR=/home/diablo/rockbox5/manual/firmware" in an endless loop
22:17:00Bagderin which dir are you building this?
22:17:10pixelmais that in the source manual dir?
22:17:35kugelno
22:17:46kugelwell, I did it in the manual dir
22:17:53kugelbut it's the same in the /sim dir
22:17:55bluebrotherBiptoN: you have an idea about the price of that debugger?
22:18:01nicktastiquekugel, It is going to fail until you get the proper latex stuffs installed. Then it will fail because mkinfo.pl is not where the manual-pdf target expects it to be.
22:18:10rasherkugel: could be because you messed up the manual dir...
22:18:43BiptoNyeah
22:18:47BiptoN1-800-ALOT
22:18:52nicktastiqueYeah call it manual-e200 or something
22:19:05BiptoNbut how much would that benefit the programmers?
22:19:18BiptoNwould it be a BIG gain for them or no?
22:19:34pixelmanicktastic: you still get the pdf (at least I do)- ignore the mkinfo.pl for now
22:19:41nicktastiquepixelma, Gotcha.
22:19:58bluebrothergiven the fact that it's known how to interface it with the hardware and especially when writing hardware drivers and similar: a lot
22:20:00rasherkugel: rm -f the manual dir and svn up to make sure it's clean..
22:20:02nicktastiqueAh, nifty, it is there.
22:20:24kugelrasher: did that allready
22:20:33bluebrotherjust think of it as a gdb ... for the real hardware device.
22:20:43kugel" LaTeX Error: File `multirow.sty' not found."
22:20:55kugeltex-latex-recommended doesn't seem to work
22:20:57bluebrotheryou're missing a package :)
22:21:22bluebrotherwe use quite some latex packages ... no idea what's "recommended".
22:21:23BiptoNit sounds like it would be a very bright light in a dark cave
22:21:23BiptoN?
22:21:24nicktastiqueSo, kugel, good news. 1. Fix your manual directory. 2. Install the tex/latex packages I mentioned. 3. Do your builds in manual-e200, not manual. 4. Enjoy hot pdf manual. 5. Profit.
22:21:28kugelnah, I'm not gonna mess around further with manual
22:21:32kugelI think
22:21:41nicktastiqueWaaah :)
22:22:00bluebrotherBiptoN: if you know how to interface it to the hardware. Which might be hard to find out.
