00:04:55svenshello all. everytime i rebuild my rockbox and copy it to my player the config.cfg gets overwritten. is there a way to set a 'default' config.cfg which gets included when doing 'make zip' ?
00:05:43amiconnconfig.cfg does not get overwritten by installing a new build

00:10:08pixelmado you have the hold switch enabled when connecting to USB?
00:14:59svensno. i've now made some changes to tools/buildzip.pl which should now include my config.cfg. thanks
00:15:46rasherIsn't there something like "fixed.cfg" anyway?
00:15:56pixelmain a usual zip, config.cfg is not included and so can't overwrite your old one

00:58:48PAssanger:(
00:59:01linuxstbsaratoga: The codeclib is statically linked with each codec, so I would expect it to be able to use IRAM.
00:59:14saratogaPAssanger: well you're welcome to work on it, but otherwise I wouldn't expect much movement
00:59:32linuxstbPAssanger: Someone may come along and do it, but those people are rare. If you want Rockbox, your best bet is to buy a supported player.
00:59:47saratogalinuxstb: so if I allocate a lookup table in IRAM in the codeclib it doesn't use space for codecs that don't access the lookup table?
01:00
01:00:25linuxstbsaratoga: Yes - if it's in its own .c file, then the linker can strip it out for codecs that don't use it.
01:00:52safetydanAnyone tried building the cross compilers with mingw?
01:01:20saratogalinuxstb: good to know
01:01:49 Quit PAssanger ()
01:02:50linuxstbsaratoga: The only complication will be if you want it in IRAM for some codecs, and not others. Maybe you'll need to define it twice, with different names (in different .c files, or with some Makefile/pre-processor magic to compile it twice from same source)

01:03:56saratogalinuxstb: I'm just thinking of the IMDCT trig tables, and those should always be in IRAM on all targets, so that shouldn't be an issue

16:56:22n1si have no idea, i don't use the feature :P
16:57:04JdGordonneither :p I just know its not done nicely
16:57:24linuxstbIf a bookmark is "a position in a song, in a particular playlist", then shouldn't saving a bookmark also save the playlist (if it's an in-ram playlist)?
16:58:00amiconnThe bookmarks contains that info
16:58:05amiconn*bookmark
16:58:28JdGordonwell, the way I would change it is to just copy the .playlist_control file and add the resume info to the end of that, so it will work for any type of playlist
16:59:05JdGordonin my test it didnt even let me create a bookmark if it wasnt a dirplay playlist
16:59:18amiconnA bookmark file can contain multiple bookmarks

17:05:42amiconnA .bmark file can contain more than one bookmark.
17:05:57GodEateri.e. more than one resume point
17:06:19GodEaterand when you open it, you see a list of all those points that you can choose from.
17:06:29linuxstbReferring to different playlists, or just different points in the same playlist?
17:07:44GodEaterI think the same, I'm not sure how you'd place a bookmark from more than one playlist in the same .bmark file
17:07:50GodEaterbut don't quote me on that
17:08:06GodEaterI don't use the feature very often at all
17:08:22JdGordonis that part of bookmarks really important?
17:08:33amiconnIirc the .bmark file contains one line per bookmark, i.e. in theory the playlists could be different
17:09:09amiconnJdGordon: I don't know as I don't normally use bookmarks, but for those who do, backwards compatibility might be important
17:09:37JdGordonwell, what I'm suggesting would kill backward compatibility anyway
17:11:06GodEaterI don't think it would make sense to throw away the multiple marks per bookmark file at all
17:11:14GodEaterwhen I *have* used it, that's a particularly good feature
17:11:48LambdaCalculus37Same here. It's very useful on audio books and radio plays.
17:12:03JdGordonwhen the playlist is only one file though?

21:44:04ChristopherWHas anyone looked at FS #9209 recently? I attached a patch which allows the md5sum plugin to be interrupted. It also increases the size of the read buffer to 16KB (from a measly 512 bytes) which improves the performance considerably
21:44:42tzafrir_laptophi, how can I tell a sansa V1 from V2?
21:44:53tzafrir_laptophttp://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/SansaFAQ#Which_Sansa_models_does_Rockbox mentions V2 as unsupported?
21:45:07tzafrir_laptopAre those different models? Same device with a different firmware?
21:45:27n1sno completely differnt hardware
21:46:06gevaertsWith unfortunately the same outer shell, so basically the only way to tell them apart is firmware version

21:48:38gevaertsThere may still be some around, but if you buy new you're pretty likely to get a V2

22:53:56pixelmaand while you're at it - the "mp3" in the hwcodec player table is not wrapped in a \fname{} and hence looks differently. I would think it's better if it would use \fname too and also mentioned .mp2
