19:46:28*Strife89 did not use the Rockbox Utility to install.
19:46:31bertrikkugel, also as far as I know, the version in the csd register is only relevant for the layout of the csd and has no relation to the card being high-capacity or not

19:51:17vladanianI started out with sansapatcher, but it said I had installed a prev version of RB, which is true, and that I needed to restore my orig firmware, and it provided a link to instructions

The site is down (and was outdated anyways) and is supposed to be replaced later. At the moment you can only install themes manually that you'd need to download from the WpsGallery in the Rockbox wiki

23:07:20kugelbertrik: did you make sure the csd version is 2?
23:11:19 Quit Schmogel ("Miranda IM! Smaller, Faster, Easier.")
23:13:12bertrikkugel, no the csd version turned out to be 0, what confused me was the endianness of the csd
23:14:42bertrikendianness -> order of the 32-bit units
23:14:53kugelbertrik: I had shot at doing the bank switch, but unlike to v1, the capacity is reported as 1GB (v1 reported >=4GB)
23:15:03kugelbertrik: I know what endianess is :)
23:15:31kugelanyway, I don't see a way to tell if the internal memory is reported as 1GB correctly or incorrectly
23:15:42amiconnbertrik: Did you check the block size?
23:16:03amiconnMaybe it's not the usual 512 bytes
23:16:49bertrikyes, it's 512 bytes both on a 1GB clip and a 4GB fuze

23:22:07bertrikassuming the CSD that the sd/mmc driver reports is really the CSD as the card sent it, it seems at least partially bogus
23:23:07bertrikfor example, the CRC for the fuze and the clip are the same, yet the data is slightly different. Also some reserved bits that should be 0 are set in the fuze csd. Finally the last bit of the CSD should always be 1 according to the spec, but it is 0.

23:26:21rasherYes, hello
23:26:39newUser123i just got rockbox
23:26:47newUser123what should i do?
23:27:05rasherYou could read the manual
23:27:18newUser123i did, i understand it
23:27:27newUser123what settings/plugins do you recommend?
23:27:46LloreanIt's entirely a matter of taste. We can't decide whether or not you like the equalizer, for example.
23:28:26newUser123i am going to be using this for scientific research
23:28:52newUser123now, if the volume is at -40 db, what does that mean? i understand db = decibels, but -40 from what?

23:29:12Bagderfrom 0 ;-)
23:29:19LloreanFrom "not altered"
23:29:22massiveH0 being 100% player volume output
23:29:28LloreanmassiveH: No.
23:29:34Llorean100% being "not altered" or "line level"
23:29:38LloreanSome players have positive values.
23:29:39newUser123so it is just based on the sound file, and my source of output?
23:29:42LloreanThey may introduce clipping.
23:29:51LloreannewUser123: Sound file and player, yes.
23:29:56massiveHLlorean, oh, didn't know others went positive
23:30:10massiveHmy iriver only goes to 0
23:30:54newUser123is it safe for me to go into .rockbox/langs/ and delete everything but English?
23:31:28kugelbertrik: well, I also believe that it's not entirely correct what the current driver produces
23:31:55rashernewUser123: the other languages are only used if you select them, so in that sense, yes. It won't save a lot of space
23:32:41newUser123just to be safe. I mean, seriously, why have them? My brother or someone would be one to change the language on me or something
23:33:01domonokywow nand access on the sansa v2 player is working ? Hurray...
23:33:34newUser123just saved 356 KB of space ;P
23:33:51BagdernewUser123: well, you'll get them again the next time you update your rockbox install

23:53:42funmanthanks, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on >1GB capacities
23:55:04mc2739no, but you can't always have perfection on the first try
23:55:23funmanthat's already an useful step indeed
23:56:02domonokyfunman: congratulations on your work !
23:56:33funmancongratulations to Daniel Ankers who wrote ata-sd-pp.c :P
23:57:06Bagderand congratulations to mrH who extracted the info for Daniel Ankers...
