03:55:24rdvonza voice. :O
03:56:00scorcheif you dont know if rockbox is being worked on, perhaps you should check the front for the creative zen, check the corresponding thread in the new ports forum
03:56:26rdvonzI have.
03:56:38rdvonzno updates.
03:56:49scorchethen there are no updates, i suppose
03:57:05rdvonzor they're being reclusive.
03:58:02Unhelpfulor there are no updates. and seriously, the front page has checkins on it every day, what do you mean, "Is rockbox still being worked on?"
03:58:55rdvonzI haven't seen any new ports in a long time. The players are dated..
03:59:25scorchethen you arent paying very close attention
03:59:37Unhelpfuland there are checkins every day.
04:00:34*rdvonz sees no new players in the supported players list.
04:01:31scorchedepends on how you define "new"...also, that isnt where work on new ports is mentioned..
04:02:02rdvonzwhat are you talking about? last project update was in 2008...
04:02:30rdvonzUnless you're talking about svn.
04:03:00scorchewhat on earth are you talking about?
04:03:18krazykitthe last "project update" was 4 weeks ago
04:03:33krazykitonly if you look at "project news"
04:03:57rdvonzI didn't think there was a significant difference. :|
04:04:01scorche2008 was less than a month away...just because we dont post anything to "project news", doesnt mean that nothing is happening...just look at the SVN log
04:04:58krazykithell, the latest commit is code for an in-progress port
04:05:22rdvonzHow can I install rockbox on my zen?
04:05:28krazykityou can't
04:05:30scorcheyou cant

04:06:29scorcheare you trying to be annoying?...we speak english here as the channel's guidelines clearly state in the topic
04:07:52rdvonzwhat's the best player for rockbox?
04:08:14scorchethat depends on what you want... "best" is very subjective

04:14:44PatBlargHi all o.O
04:14:48scorchethen, i suppose you have your answer
04:14:50bluntz_e200 seems to be supported
04:15:23bluntz_was just wondering is device is up for it or not
04:15:38scorche"is up for it"?
04:15:50bluntz_dont see any requirements
04:15:51rdvonzone second. My keyboard is unplugged.
04:15:59Lloreanbluntz_: The requirements are "is it in the list"
04:16:23LloreanEach player has unique hardware, so it needs to be specially tailored to each one.
04:16:36PatBlargQuick question... would a remake of the original WPS screen of the Sansa E200 be "legal" to be posted on the website?
04:17:28LloreanPatBlarg: If you use any of the original images, no.
04:17:43LloreanIf you've created all your own images, and are just going for the "feel" of it, yes.
04:18:00PatBlargOh well, I guess I won't publish it then

04:18:52scorcheyou want to run rockbox...the e140 is not on that list...if it worked, dont you think we would put it there?
04:19:17PatBlargWell, there were no firmware for the E140... I doubt there's any way to put rockbox on that
04:19:36bluntz_I dunno if anyone else was interested in a discontinued player
04:20:17PatBlargSorry, I'm wrong, there was some firmware update for the E140
04:20:26bluntz_Im always askin for the impossible it seems
04:20:38LloreanPatBlarg: A lack or presence of firmware updates doesn't necessarily mean anything
04:20:44bluntz_woulda been sweet
04:20:45LloreanThe question is whether it *can* be upgraded, not whether it has been.
04:21:35Lloreanbluntz_: The big requirement is someone who has the player and is interested enough to do the work.
04:21:55bluntz_oh I am interested alright
04:22:09bluntz_but do I have the skillz
04:22:10PatBlargOooh, and I think they were not reliable... (not as much as my E200 anyway)
04:23:04Lloreanbluntz_: Skills can be learned, and we ask that you use real words and spellings here for the benefit of those who depend on machine assistance of one form or another.

04:29:21UnhelpfulPatBlarg: because you did not actually duplicate *their* data
04:29:22LloreanPatBlarg: As long as one can look at it and recognize that all the art is original, it should be fine.
04:30:07JdGordonarg, where is the instrutions to install a new bootloader onto a h300 without rbutil?
04:30:30LloreanJdGordon: fwpatcher.exe on the bin file, copy it over, then firmware update.

15:18:27edrzi see just a few mentions in svn log for libtremor, for instance.
15:18:44Zagorwe don't, unless there is some major changes upstream
15:19:03B4gderand we often have more polished versions now for our targets, than upstream does

15:20:56Zagorfor example we don't have dynamic memory allocation

18:50:13linuxstb_kugel: Looking at your commit today, isn't there a way to read all GPIO pins in one read, rather than the loop you've implemented? (I don't have the datasheet with me to check...)
18:51:12linuxstb_Also, (IIUC, I may not), you could have left the four identical debug-target.h files in the firmware/target/arm/as3535/ directory, with just the fuze getting one at a lower level.

18:52:14kugellinuxstb_: hm, maybe, it worked this way, and it's the loop I've always used for reading those
18:54:30linuxstb_I think that will be part of the cause of your large binsize delta - the GPIO*_PIN() macro is being expanded 4 times, but IIUC, you can replace all that with just a single register read from a fixed location.

20:03:13bertrikyou can download the source code, read the documentation and try it out, but the ports for ams (v2) sansas are not fully functional yet and have known bugs. Installing Rockbox on your ams sansa player may permanently brick it and you probably won't get any support from here unless you are serious about helping with further development.

23:45:10amiconnn1s, kugel: No surprise here. Rockbox has no 64 bit file api, and that file is >2GB
23:45:17amiconnFAT32 allows up to 4GB. We'd need a 64 bit api although a 33 bit api would be enough....
23:45:26amiconnAt least some OFs do support up to 4GB though. I know that the H300 OF does (tested with a ~2.5GB WAV file, which plays in the OF but not in rockbox)
23:46:25kugelmaybe you can comment on the fix I attached
23:47:22amiconnFile sizes need to be signed in the posix world, for 2 reasons. (1) Negative sizes as return values often mean errors (2) lseek() needs them for seeking relative to the current position (otherwise you couldn't seek back that way) and for seeking relative to the end of file
23:49:40kugelwhy does the size to be signed for seeking?
23:49:59kugelI imagine lseek uses a temp var or something, it cannot change size anyway
23:50:12kugelbut again, I'm not an expert
23:50:23amiconnRead the whole sentence...
23:50:31kugelI did
23:51:04kugelI don't see why you would need size to be signed to seek backwards
23:51:05amiconnYou need to be able to seek backward & forward. How would you do that when the parameter would be unsigned?
23:52:04kugelthe parameter isn't the size
23:52:33amiconnNo, it's the offset
23:53:07kugelyes, that must be signed
23:53:23kugelbut not the filesize?
23:54:34amiconnBut it's related to the size. And read() returns an ssize_t - and needs to be able to return positive values up to the size of the file (well, at least in theory) as well as negative values (for reporting errors)
