12:23:59gevaertsyes and no. They are on the server, but not in the right place
12:26:24Torneis there a new bootloader for ipod there?

12:28:46gevaertsdo we need one?

12:36:31Tornewe don't need-need one
12:36:49Tornebut i proposed that we release one anyway because a new ipod bootloader would have my OSOS boot change in
12:37:12Tornethere seem to be a significant number of people willing to mess around to install rockbox to OSOS to make it boot a bit quicker
12:37:21Torneand atm they need to build the svn version of the bootloader for that.

19:13:08funmannope the timeout should be ok
19:13:16funmanunless you modified card clock frequency
19:13:55funmantimeout is when the card couldn't read the data in the specified time (when reading), or couldn't write the data to the card (when writing, after having read that data from the fifo)
19:14:31FlynDiceI was lloking at the timeouts thinking they might be the problem when we lower the uSD card freq to 15.5. Timeout is still based on pclk freq I think

20:49:30domonokyit think the best way to autodetect is to start with the list of all usb-ids as potential devices. then map all targets to this, and weed out dublicate usb-ids (two targets with the same id) with different detection methods. If we only had a way to map mountpoints to usb-ids... :-/
20:49:31bluebrotherstill we need better detection. Plus much better detection of unsupported players. All those Ipod Classic reports in the forums ...
20:50:48domonokyfor unsupported players, i thought about adding them as real targets in rbutil, und mark them with some status in rbutil.ini the it should be easier to handle.

22:57:18[1]niftybadger: unfortunately i have no idea how to get any of their files or anything
22:57:19[1]niftysite is gone
22:57:23[1]niftyand i find no mirrors or anything
22:58:00bluebrotherarchive.org?
22:58:02linuxstb_Their svn is still available.
22:58:11linuxstb_Or rather, git IIRC
22:58:32[1]niftyyou know their irc channel?
22:58:44[1]niftyarchive finds nothing
22:58:55linuxstb_No, but here is the repository - http://github.com/planetbeing/iphonelinux/tree/master
22:59:38[1]niftymm lets see
23:00
23:00:25linuxstb_You _may_ find some interest in #linux4nano-dev, as I think the touch and 4th gen Nano are believed to be similar.
23:00:43linuxstb_But that channel/project is lacking developers too.

23:01:08[1]niftymm i see
23:01:14[1]niftywell what about this channel? :P
23:01:26Zagorisn't it lovely how everyone wants someone else to do their work? :-)
23:01:36linuxstb_[1]nifty: No interest in porting linux to anything here...
23:02:33[1]niftymm well ill get this iboot working
23:02:38[1]niftylook into this later
23:02:56Bagder[1]nifty: we'll help you port rockbox...
23:03:21[1]niftyi dont care what it is i just want to get open source firmware onto ipod touch
23:03:32[1]nifty:)
23:03:36[1]niftyif i can make apps for it
23:03:47[1]niftyand it works fine on the ipod touch i dont care what it is rockbox or whatever :)
23:03:53[1]niftyi thought rockbox was based on linux though
23:04:01gevaertsnothing to do with it
23:04:08linuxstb_Why did you think that?
23:04:28[1]niftyi think i read it on a forum
23:04:37[1]niftythats how i originally got to know about rockbox
23:04:53[1]niftyis it possible to make rockbox have the ability to run cydia and run apps?\
23:05:11Bagdernow you need to calm down and take a step back
23:05:20Bagdercydia is for macsox-on-iphone apps
23:05:45Bagderyou're talking about a different firmware but that would still be able to run those apps?
23:05:53Bagderthat's... insane
23:05:57[1]niftyah
23:06:02[1]niftywell i mean run apps like cydia ;0
23:06:04[1]nifty;)
23:06:18Bagderyou mean apps
23:06:26Bagderand yeah, rockbox can run apps (we call them plugins)
23:06:30linuxstb_Rockbox has it's own set of apps (plugins). But Rockbox is mainly designed to play music, not be a general OS.
23:07:20[1]niftyi see
23:07:34[1]niftywell that is good to know. hopefully it be nice to make it operate better with plugins
23:08:13bluebrotheryou sure it doesn't work nice with plugins right now?

23:08:40[1]niftynot exactly i haven't tried to run it on the ipod touch
23:08:51[1]niftyi tried with my ipod video but it gave some troubles
23:09:43rasherIt cannot run on the ipod touch. It can and does run on the ipod video. The two are not related in any way that matters to Rockbox.
23:09:55bluebrother"some troubles" is a rather bad problem description.
23:10:24Spadsman how come you people have so many bugs: https://bugs.launchpad.net/rhythmbox/+bugs
23:10:45BagderSpads: we are rockbox, we don't have bugs for rythmbox

23:13:05Spads[1]nifty: huh well i guess you would have to get mono on there because i hear rythmbox is written in C♯

23:16:47JdGordon|pay?
23:16:50*JdGordon| is in
23:16:55Zagorrockbox already runs on linux
23:16:57JdGordon|do I have to do anything though?
23:17:16[1]niftyzagor: my goal is jsut to have a firmware that is open source to run on ipod touch
23:17:21[1]niftythat is as simple as that
23:17:40[1]niftyreason i want to do that so i can create apps and themes made for it
23:17:53[1]niftythe themes i can make now are limited and i want to do all of that cause of the promise i made to my friend
23:17:53linuxstbCan't you do that already?
23:17:53Bagderwith a wifi and stuff, I figure an IP stack is more or less mandatory, and... perhaps Rockbox is then not the choice of most people
23:18:19Zagor[1]nifty: you also have to make all the music and movie playing software. you do know that?
23:18:21bluebrotherman how come this rockbox has so many bugs: http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/index.php?&project=1&type[]=2&status[]=open&do=index
23:18:31[1]niftyzagor: yeah i know
23:18:32Spadsbluebrother: this is rockbox not rhythmbox
23:18:44Spadsbluebrother: rhythmbox has bugs, not rockbox
23:18:48Zagorbluebrother: because we only do rubbish
23:18:48Spadsbluebrother: I learned that recently.
23:19:03[1]niftyzagor: but it s a promise that i made
23:19:04bluebrotherZagor: because Rockbox sounds like a BOS? *g*
23:19:42Zagor[1]nifty: then get to work on the basics before you dream about the end result. choosing which operating system to run is many months down the line.

23:21:11Bagderwell, we've experienced rockbox ported to some 30 devices, we know the drill now
23:21:20Bagderthe icons are in position [size of list] -1
