#rockbox log for 2009-12-02

00:00:19FlynDiceCould I get a fuze & clip test on this patch: http://pastie.org/722692. It appears we don't use the IDE AHB interface for the AMS Sansas. The e200v2 for sure and I'm guessing the others also.

09:43:58cool_walking_Is there any chance that someone remembers a patch for the Sansa e200 (maybe more) that did something like turn off the display when the backlight goes off? This meant quieter recordings, because the LCD makes a bit of noise. I know it was on the tracker, and I think scorche or soap declared their love for it in the forum, but I've searched those two places and not found the patch. This was quite a good few months ago.

21:37:17gitsterI use rockbox on Fuze and have Quick Screen (long Submenu from WPS) configured to adjust brightness upon Up/Down keys. Unfortunately, Up makes brightness dimmer and Down makes it brighter, which is very unintuitive.
21:37:24gitsterI am suspecting that this has not been identified as an issue because the default key assignment of Quick Screen gives Shuffle/Repeat/Show Files and for these operations the direction does not matter, Can this be fixed?

21:49:48Jaykaycan two identical lang-strings be useful?
21:50:30n1sJaykay: sure, but also wastefull :)
21:51:11Jaykayso... erm... are identical lang strings "allowed"?
21:51:16LloreanJaykay: Why is it necessary?
21:51:35LloreanRather than being vague about it, why not describe the situation and ask if identical strings are the best solution?
21:51:48n1stbh though they might be there to enable translations to differ in places where the same string would fit for english
21:51:59MG_ManYep, just SPCs
21:52:06MG_ManI guess it just plain old crashes
21:52:12n1sbut more likely someone just forgot to vheck if the string was already there

21:54:05JdGordon|the _SYSFONT_ strings shold all have been removed by now i thought?
21:54:07n1sJaykay: the keyword there is SYSFONT
21:54:20n1sJdGordon: they should?
21:54:44n1sah, did the rec screen get a "skin"?
21:55:01JdGordon|not yet.. but I thought they were all removed months ago?
21:55:26JdGordon|kugel_: get a chance to look at that patch?
21:55:32n1sJaykay: the sysfont strings are only allowed to use the builtin font, which influences translations
