01:18:54gevaertsWith all optional features turned off, 280kb

01:19:37gevaertsYou also need at least about 100kb of RAM for it

06:36:09CIA-6New commit by bieber (r27378): Theme Editor: Fixed rendering behavior of default viewport. Now when other viewports are present in the skin, only _text_ from the default viewport ...
06:37:49CIA-6r27378 build result: All green
06:38:31LacrociousHi. I just installed Rockbox on a sansa Clip v2 and either did something bad or something unknown. It now won't power up - no sign of life, reset (hold power-on for 20+ seconds) doesn't help. Thoughts?
06:39:04JdGordondid the install give any errors?
06:40:10LacrociousNo - Used the installer. Double-checked v2 firmware on the device. Updated to 2.1.53a about 10 minutes before Rockbox. That went without issue using the Sansa updater.
06:40:43LacrociousThe install was successful. Unplugged the clip and it updated the firmware and powered off. It doesn't turn back on after that.
06:41:55JdGordondoes anything happen if yo plug it into usb?
06:44:01LacrociousNo signs of life with plugging into USB, tried various reset options - hold power-on for 20-90 seconds, hold power-on while plug into usb, etc. No lights, no flickers, nothing to indicate any intelligent life remains inside the clip.
06:47:54JdGordonumm, I dont know :(
06:48:02JdGordontry the forums I think
06:51:20S_a_i_n_tbieber: JdGordon: I saw last night discussion about the default vieport again, and the "only *text* is hidden" part confused me (I had no idea that text was actually hidden in the default viewport). This is only when other viewports are present I assume?
06:51:35LacrociousOk. Thank you. I have read through the forums before trying here. I will drop a post there as well. It's rather late (at least where I am). Would others be here that might be able to help if I try earlier in the evening tomorrow?
06:51:58JdGordonS_a_i_n_t: the default viewport stuff is a mess... really the only way to know what is happening is to look at the code
06:52:19JdGordonLacrocious: this channel is mostly active during daytime europe hours
06:52:42S_a_i_n_tI *thought* I knew how it worked fine, I just want to clear it up for bieber's sake.
06:53:07bieberatm, that's how mine is handling it
06:53:15S_a_i_n_tI was under the understanding that all drawing was allowed in the default viewport.
06:53:18bieberI can just as easily make it render text too, if that mirrors RB's renderer better
06:53:51*JdGordon is slowly getting text rendering working in rockbox :)
06:53:53JdGordonthe bugger isnt working properly though
06:53:58S_a_i_n_tI'd need to check it on device or sim which I can't do ATM, but I'm pretty sure test can be drawn in the default viewport as well.
06:54:15S_a_i_n_t*text
06:54:44JdGordonnot if other viewports are defined
06:54:46JdGordonthat I am CERTAIN of
06:54:51JdGordonimages and other stuff is iffy
06:54:57S_a_i_n_tNot to me.
06:55:06S_a_i_n_tImages can de drawn, definitely
06:55:23JdGordonhave you learnt c yet? :)
06:55:54*S_a_i_n_t refers to JdGordon's comment that "SVN behaviour is "correct" " :P
06:56:07LacrociousJdGordon: Thank you - I will hit the forums and try back here at a better time. - L
06:56:08S_a_i_n_tit works on device and sim, this is gospel ;)
06:56:52JdGordonhehe, I meant (above) that I know for sure text doesnt get drawn in the default vp if other vps are defined, and I'm not sure how images and other stuff work
06:57:37S_a_i_n_tDidn't you write most (if not all now) of that code?

07:00
07:00:53bieberI have removed all the redundant crap: i.e. setting the value for play position will change the values for percent played and time left
07:01:05bieberI haven't made the free entry dialog yet, I'll get that in soon
07:01:12JdGordonawesome :)
07:01:27bieberThere's also a timer now that will automatically advance time variables for you

21:30:36funmani was wondering about speed
21:31:12funmanbtw speed seems to affect battery life (faster operations = less juice needed)
21:32:37bor_kaBut does "quarterclock" mean less CPU power and less battery drain? Or it is just a multiplier?
21:36:34funmanapparently it is the clock applied to the SD card
21:37:44funmanso 62/31/15.5 MHz if i read correctly, but it should not be higher than 50MHz for highspeed cards and 25MHz for other (like the internal storage)
21:37:53funmanflyndice: we need you!
21:40:05bor_kaNow internal storage is initialized at halfspeed - it means 31 in your series? If so - it is greater than 25
21:41:49funmanI am not sure what is the source clock but if it is pclk (like the AS3525_SD_IDENT_FREQ definition suggests) then it's 62MHz
21:42:30funmanyou could try changing PCLK to 49.6MHz
21:43:10funmanhttp://pastie.org/1039948
21:43:39bor_kafunman, thanks, will try tomorrow
21:44:00bor_kaBTW, now uSD at halfspeed works with 31MHz according to the debug menu
21:44:12bor_kaand internal memory at 12MHz
21:45:15funman12 and not 15 ?
21:45:37bor_kayes, 12...
21:46:33funmanhm SD shows 25MHz for me so perhaps i missed soemthign
21:46:43bor_kaIDE - at 49MHz
21:46:52funmanah then it's good
21:47:06funmanand SD_IDENT_FREQ is probably wrong
21:47:31bor_kaI have changed halfspeed to quarterspeed in the internal memory initialization, so I got 25/2 = 12
21:48:01funmanyeah makes sense, i thought that 25 was 31, but SD clock source seems to be IDE clock, not PCLK

22:10:31Bagderas I recall it, I only changed the headers that matched some criteria, so there could've been some v2 only already then
