00:46:55soaaHi everyone! Does anyone have a recent build of Rockbox for Android? I'd love to test it out.
00:48:44stripwaxsoaa - it should be possible to build it yourself

00:58:07pixelmaif you get a chance, can you look at how the info is updating in the RWPS with a current build? I'd like confirmation of something I can only see in the sim
00:59:22stripwaxpixelma - i'll try to do that sometime over the weekend, sure

01:01:28pixelmaespecially when changing tracks. In the sim I can see only some info updating (playlist position and playing time), artist and title stay at the first I saw after resuming/entering the WPS. This happens in all sims of remote targets I tried (H300, X5 and M5)

10:39:43pixelmathe theme updater is doing a bad job with my monochrome viewported theme - it's adding an unclosed "%Vf(" after the first viewport declaration and treats all following tags as text, putting %%ia as if I wanted to display "%ia" literally

10:45:11pixelmait's odd that it adds %Vf/b at all for monochrome screens...
10:45:21S_a_i_n_tpixelma: My guess is you're one of the very few to use it for greyscale/monochrome.
10:45:35S_a_i_n_twell, yes..there is that.

10:47:05*JdGordon wonders if he should be p[aying attention?
10:47:53S_a_i_n_tJdGordon: Possibly.
10:47:55JdGordonah, well whoever ran the updater didnt follow the instrructions
10:48:05JdGordonit needs -m to ignore the colours
10:48:57S_a_i_n_tthe themeeditor updates old syntax?
10:49:10JdGordondid i misread?
10:49:21*S_a_i_n_t thinks so.
10:49:53S_a_i_n_tI *think* pixelma meant the "update code" (or whatever it is) on the themeeditor.
10:50:07S_a_i_n_twilling to be corrected though that.
10:50:34pixelmaok, probably it can't know f it's a monochrome theme otherwise? Although it should be able to find out that the theme used viewport declaration without the two extra colour parameters

10:54:05S_a_i_n_tAh, I read 'editor' as opposed to 'updater' far, far too many times in a row just now.
10:54:26S_a_i_n_tmakes a lot more sense.
10:54:54JdGordonthe updater wasnt exactly supposed to be a work of art... it was supposed to be good enough
10:55:50pixelmaanyway... I think I can handle it. There are one or two more important things I wanted to tell JdGordon (the latter unconfirmed on target yet, just in the sim). Both have to do with lcd remotes somewhat. The first - %Vf/b breaks themes on the X5, neither the colour main screen take correctly written %Vb/f(xxxxxx) nor the greyscale remote - %Vb/f(x). The latter makes the cabbiev2.rwps break on the X5 (works on the M3 anbd M5 though)
10:56:45pixelmathe other thing is that some info doesn't seem to update in the RWPS, e.g. artist and title stay at the one that is displayed right on entering the WPS
10:57:04pixelmaplaylist position or playing time get updated though
10:57:57pixelmaan addition: "break the themes" means that they are rejected
10:59:38pixelmaand going back to the revision before the "make greyscale targets reject RGB values in %Vb/f" did not help
10:59:42JdGordonput it into a FS task or email me... I wont be around much tonight
11:01:01pixelmayeah, will do. I wanted to put it on FS but wanted to wait for confirmation on the update problem of someone with a real target. The X5 thing is confirmed already though

19:28:50deltanyway, just wanted to ask if the latest mikmod plugin patched well against rockbox-current (post-3.6)
19:30:02deltoh and if rb afterwards compiled well once i patched in the mikmod plugin
19:30:37bertrikthe only way to be sure is to try patching and compiling it

19:33:47TheSevenbertrik: this thing only has a single volume
19:35:32deltoh, also info wanted: on sansa e2x0 series, bass & treble settings are done hardware? ie. not like the param. eq which takes up quite a couple of cpu cycles...?
19:35:40deltwas the case on ipod nano1g
19:35:59bertrikdelt, no, they are done in software on the e200 series
19:38:57deltah ok... thx for the info

19:41:24deltso the ipods have actual {low, high}{pass, cut} filters for bass and treble...?
19:41:42tmztin the wolfson chip? which generations have that?
19:42:22deltwolfson chip....?
19:42:35tmztwolfson micro codec
19:42:43deltnano 1g
19:43:35deltbut i'd figure the bass/treble settings, if lowpass/highpass filters, wouldn't have anything to do with the coded chip?
19:45:09tmztit's a pcm codec, also used for audio frequency functions
19:45:20tmztthey are very configurable
19:45:34deltso the wolfson is a pretty versatile DSP...?
19:45:51tmztnot dsp, it's mostly analog and DAC/ADC should have more details, including function diagrams
19:46:30deltah got it.. but it does have low/high pass functionality right?
19:46:53tmztI don't know about that chip in particular, I've only read about the one used in the openmoko
19:47:17deltwhich wouldn't take much battery power, according to the benchmarks i've done about 2 years ago
19:47:35tmztI would assume you just have to program the registers
19:47:55deltmakes sense... so no diff if they're set to zero or anything else
19:47:56tmztshouldn't require any more power or a negligible amount
19:48:27tmztthey might have enable bits
19:49:02deltnow for the 50 point question..... (about the bass/treble done by software on the sansa e200) −−- 13:43 < delt> i presume they still take up less cpu than the parametric eq?

20:04:07tmztbut you need to find out (from the rockbox wiki) what codec chip is in your target and get the data sheet and see what kind of filters are available
20:04:34tmztand then add the appropriate functions to rockbox to set those registers cooresponding to the desired parameters
