02:35:08saratogahow do I do a case insensitive compare in a metadata parser?
02:36:03saratoga"FS #11536 - m4a files won't play" is arguably our fault for doing a case sensitive compare
02:37:48saratogahuh the code just packs the chars and does a 32 bit integer compare
02:41:05saratogaI guess i'll just add "M4A " and leave the compares case sensitive
02:49:16saratogaugh so fixing the compare in rockbox causes playback to deadlock, but fixing the file to be lower case makes it play fine
02:49:41soaaThat's odd.
02:51:05soaaI was wondering, will FS #10906 ever be committed? It improves accuracy without any significant impact on battery life. At least, for the Clip+.

16:49:21Soap-N810The only suggestion I have, and it is a rather weak one, is to do a clean install (any version, as I don't believe that is the problem) by deleting the .rockbox directory to ensure nothing is fouled up in there which isn't being overwritten by a standard install.
16:51:02dennis-pok perhaps a corrupt disk, yes that could be it as i got the player after complaints that some numbers started to skip.
16:52:10Soap-N810then i'd error-check the disk before the aforementioned clean reinstall.

16:53:25Soap-N810Though, I'll admit I'm grasping at straws. I'd stay on IRC and await more informed responses, I've been absent for a while and may not be aware of recent issues.

17:57:25dennis-pI'll throw on some mp3's and see how long it plays on sansa firmware.
17:57:33mc2739dennis-p: if you have a small screwdriver you might try removing the four screws on the back of your e200 and remove the battery. then try plugging in the usb cable to see what happens

18:31:24webguest05Hi there I'm trying deparately to put rockbox on my sansa clip+ but after trying everything I still cannot get rockbox top boot on the clip...I have version 1.02.15 OF loaded on the clip anyone have any ideas?

18:32:32mc2739webguest05: are you using the RockboxUtility to install?
18:32:57webguest05hi there..... yes!....is there a know problem?
18:34:56mc2739yes, some newer versions of the clip+ are not yet supported by the current RockboxUtility. Try following the manual instructions for the bootloader only listed on this wiki page: http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/SansaAMS
18:35:47webguest05the utility seem to install everything OK but the clip just boots back into sansa OF
18:36:43mc2739correct - there is a new bootloader and patching tool to fix that problem
18:37:02webguest05many thanks I'll give it a go.....is the rockbox utility likely to be able to accomodate this newer sansa firmware in the furture?
18:37:32mc2739yes, probably with the next release of the utility
18:41:11webguest05many thanks for your help....PS do you think that rockbox will be fully stable on the clip+ in the next version?
18:42:58mc2739there has been some talk of it, though it depends on whether the developers for that model feel it is ready.
18:46:17webguest05OK...thanks again......if this RB install is not to my liking can I simply uninstall and revert back to the OF?
18:49:11mc2739yes just put an unpatched firmware upgrade in the root folder of your clip+. when the upgrade completes, you can connect in msc mode and remove the .rockbox folder
18:54:32webguest05really sorry but when you say unpatched do you mean for e.g the latest firmware from sandisk for the clip+

19:08:16webguest05sorry...one more question about the manual install process......at the point where I am running the cmd prompt the command line Iine I'm supposed to use is base on 'mkamsboot.exe fuzea.bin bootloader-fuze.bin patched.bin' and I replace the bootloader and OF file with the ones I've downloaded.....
19:08:57webguest05the problem is that the bootloader ends in a .sansa extenion not .bin
19:12:00dfktwebguest05, that's not the bootloader, jsut the source for it
19:12:13dfkthere's a bootloader you can simply unzip and put on your player: http://anythingbutipod.com/images/forum/dfkt/sansa_clip/rockbox/v3.0-bootloader-sansaclipplus-01.02.15-dual_boot.zip
