#rockbox log for 2010-09-13

00:01:50AlexPon the wiki if anywhere
00:01:55AlexPSansaRuntime IIRC
00:02:39JustAnotherGuestyeah but thats old runtime list
00:02:51AlexPNo, that's the only runtime list
00:03:03JustAnotherGuestim asking about private opinions ;)
00:03:05AlexPIf there aren't any recent ones, then nobody has done any
00:03:11AlexPopinions are pointless
00:03:14JustAnotherGuestin changelog latest change is related to rsansa runtime ;o
00:03:15AlexPYou need measurements
00:03:29JustAnotherGuestwondering should i upgrade
00:03:34AlexPOf course
00:04:00AlexPThings get better all the time :)
00:04:33JustAnotherGuestim just scarred of bricking as theres no way back
00:04:34JustAnotherGuestlag,,,
00:04:48 Quit markun (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
00:04:52AlexPThe bootloader is the dangerous bit, updating Rockbox isn't
00:07:03JustAnotherGuestyou know, on anything butipod forums some people didnt update rockbox on purpose, claiming that older versions made batter runtime longer
00:07:17JustAnotherGuestbut that was like few months ago
00:07:26AlexPabi is not a very reliable source of information
00:07:32JustAnotherGuestafaik it was fixed in more recent rlelase
00:07:36scorcheJustAnotherGuest: well, there is an easy way to test as well...
00:07:39 Quit kramer3d (Ping timeout: 276 seconds)
00:07:48AlexPI'm not saying either way, just that I wouldn't rely on it
00:07:50gevaertsThat's *entirely* up to them. Just remember that we don't anything other than the latest release or the latest current build
00:08:09AlexPgevaerts: miss a "support" there somewhere?
00:08:11 Quit juju2143 (Quit: And the dragon comes in the niiiiight...)
00:08:22gevaertsAlexP: yes, that's what I was trying to get at :)
00:08:35gevaerts(missing support on random builds)
00:09:20JustAnotherGuestscorche: by easy, do you mean running certain mp3 playlist for 15h or so?
00:09:37scorcheif that is how long it takes, yes
00:09:56JustAnotherGuestyeah around that
00:09:59AlexPUse the battery bench plugin
00:10:08JustAnotherGuestits still superior to OF which had 7-9h of runtime
00:10:19AlexPThen you can add it to SansaRuntime and have a recent measurement for other people
00:10:27scorcheyou just set the battery bench, play the playlist, and not touch it for a while...quite easy ;)

02:47:47Blue_DudeHi. Now that the hotkey setting mechanism changed, does anyone want to recommit r25665 again? It was an ipod keymap change that made it easier to use hotkeys but interfered in other ways when setting them. That flaw isn't an issue anymore. Can someone test it so we can clear FS #11617? Thanks.

15:09:15solexx_pixelma: thanks for suggesting switching the theme. I will try that this evening (CEST).
15:10:04pixelmacan you tell me the exact revision you have problems with too?
15:12:03solexx_pixelma: No, not exactly. I am compiling from a mercurial-clone I am using. But I always build latest trunk and it is broken for some time now.
15:12:56Torneif your hg clone doesn't have the ability to identify svn revision numbers then i suggest not using hg
15:13:02Tornegit and bzr can :)
15:13:05Tornei'm sure hg can too, tbh
15:13:08solexx_But I just tried your suggestion and you appear to be on the right path: switching to the default theme makes the problem go away. When loading iAmp.cfg, it hangs again. Iriver H120 btw. ;-)
