19:02:21bertrikyes
19:02:21gevaertsScy: you can write a plugin that sends HID events to the host, which get interpreted as key presses
19:02:30gevaertsBut I'm not sure if that's what you're after
19:02:51gevaertsApart from that you can of course write any USB-based communication system you want
19:02:52Scycan entire strings be sent as keypresses rather easily?
19:03:42ScyWhat i'm trying to get at, is, upon connecting that usb into the player, it would run a few shell commands on a linux based host
19:04:07gevaertshm, maybe you're better off using usb_serial for that sort of thing

19:49:24bertrikoh, you can poll for it, so no delay needed probably
19:49:28saratogashouldn't that have a 'volatile' somewhere around the loop
19:49:55n1sTheSeven: the bootrom disassembly has a delay after both writing 1 to ORSTCON and then writin 0 to it so it makes sense i think but i don't know how long they delay

20:30:15ScytheSo, I've gotten rockbox installed on my fuze (2.0), the installation went fine. However, when I connect the USB to the computer (Ubuntu) it isn't detected anymore. In the original FW i had to set it to USB mode=MCP, however, and that fixed my problem, but i don't see that option inside of rockbox
20:30:29Scythewas there something I missed that I had to enable to allow the host OS to detect it?
20:33:29pixelmayou need to manually boot into the OF or plug your Fuzev2 into USB from an off-state as Rockbox USB is not available on those players yet and the automatic reboot into the Sansa firmware was disabled as it caused hard lock-up on some players which you could only get out by running the battery down

20:47:34amiconnThe only (moderate, but looong standing) annoyance the rework fixes for me is the premature playlist position advance

20:48:27amiconnRegarding binsize, I wonder (a) why this rework adds almost 2KB to the swcodec engine and (b) what caused the slight hwcodec binsize reduction

20:51:47jhMikeSa) it adds a good code-dense number of lines to playback.c I suppose, with more states becuase it's still nessary to deal with playlist strangeness among other things. b) for hwcodec, perhaps some slight consolidation (thing like wipe_mp3entry with one param instead of memset)
20:52:42jhMikeSin some cases I reduced excess static allocation based on memsize, so there was less ram use for some but still a binsize increase.
20:54:21jhMikeSoh, was hwcodec stuck with the workarounds for resume that were done by Buschel but not required any longer? that might explain things (and did I break something on that...)

21:12:35pixelmaI didn't test on hwcodec despite of seeing if it builds as I thought hwcodec wasn't touched at all
21:12:39jhMikeSthings like playlists can't peek ahead at a directory transition, so that has to be handled somewhat separately from a regular transition

21:13:47pixelmawell, there was this crash bug on auto-change directory on hwcodec...
21:14:18*amiconn doesn't use many of those newfangled playback features, so can't tell
21:14:32jhMikeSplaylist + faulty track handling = horrible and twisted
21:14:59amiconnI don't even skip very often
21:15:15jhMikeSplaylist just try to be too smart where they should be dumb and they're very dumb where they should provide simple valuable info

21:58:59pixelmayes, auto-change directories - just going from playlist entry to the next was and is working, otherwise the complaint would have been louder. I don't follow your cuesheet thought, it was made this way because it took noticable amount of additional RAM on out hwcodec players at least
