02:19:39webguest90Hello, does Rockbox 3.6 work with Bootloader 2.0? I use the utility to install the bootloader, then extract RB3.6 to my device. Once the USB cable is connected, the device continually reboots.
02:20:09webguest90Doing a standard full install with 3.9.1 works fine, but I've been having issues where my Sansa Fuze V1 locks up during large file transfers. I believe this started back in 3.7.1.

11:25:02gevaertsThe folder_advance_dir.txt, yes. Well, maybe not, but I think the UI should be at the level of control provided by that file, and not at the level of individual directories, i.e. I think selecting trees and adding some exceptions is going to work better than selecting individual directories, even if you can mass-select them easily

15:59:29TorneOkay, so what do people think of the following versioning scheme:
15:59:55Tornecommits on trunk would look like v3.10-dev-9-g38da400
16:00
16:00:08Tornemeaning "9 commits after the 3.9 release branch was created"
16:00:18Torne(with hash 38da400)
16:00:32Tornecommits on the release branches would look like v3.9-final-11-g3049a6b
16:00:35Torneer
16:00:35Torneno

16:00:53Tornecommits on the release branches would look like v3.9.1-pre-10-g3049a6b
16:01:06Torne10 commits after 3.9 final
16:01:24Tornedoes that make any kind of sense?
16:01:31Torneit's reasonably easy to get git describe to do that
16:01:50kugelthat's for rockbox-info.txt?

16:05:44Tornewhen this was discussed before (in less specific terms) i think most people agreed that having trunk called after the name of the next version, with some suffix to indicate it's a dev/test/whatever, was probably an improvement over svn revision numbers
16:06:16Tornebecause it's clearer to users that v3.10-dev+27 is newer than v3.9.1 in a way that r30050 is not
16:06:41Torneit's possible in theory to work out atht we are on trunk and produce a plain integer type build number
16:06:44Tornea la svn
16:06:47Tornebut i think that's worse
16:07:45Torne(also if we do that then currently the numbers would be *lower* than the head of SVN)
16:07:55Torne(since there are less commits on trunk then there are revisions in our entire svn repository)
16:09:36kugelI don't mind really
16:09:46Tornethis is about as good as git describe can get. if we want something cleverer, i think i'd need to write an actual script that looked at stuff
16:10:01TorneWe might be able to do something very clever by assuming that one of the remotes is the rockbox repo and cmoparing to that
