22:22:30plushheya. for weeks and weeks now, i keep running into this when i try to rebuild rockbox: pcm_mixer.c:(.icode+0x120): undefined reference to `write_samples'
22:23:06plushit started suddenly and now happens all the time. is this a known issue? the write_samples function seems to be missing for me somehow :(
22:26:10gevaertsIs your build directory clean?
22:26:40plushyep, rm -rf build && mkdir build
22:27:17plushi see write_samples exists in the code. for some reason, it does not end up in the binary it seems
22:27:54jhMikeSjust write_samples?
22:28:23plushalso mix_samples

22:38:48brobostigongood evening, i just put rockbox onto my nano this afternoon, and it rebooted several times without problem, however around an hour ago, it would fail to start, no reaction of any kind, by all methods i have tried, any further suggestions, that i may not have tried yet?
22:39:07plushthe version i have on my ipod right now is 6e6f0c6, built on 22 march. i will check that one out and try to rebuild it

22:40:33brobostigongevaerts: it is vert grey, first thing i checked.
22:41:21gevaertsHow's the battery?
22:41:58brobostigongevaerts: last time, i got a reading inside rockbox, last time it booted, the battery was full.
22:42:46brobostigongevaerts: and it doesnt react, when i connect it to my computer via usb.
22:43:05brobostigonit stays blank and non-reactive.
22:43:16gevaertsOK. I'd try resetting again, after toggling the hold switch (that's actually part of the official reset procedure). Make sure it's on a table or other flat surface while doing it, this can be a bit tricky
22:43:28brobostigonunlike, around two hours earlier, when i connected it via usb, and it would boot.
22:43:33gevaerts has the details
22:44:34gevaertsI'm asking about the battery because ipods with a really empty battery do behave that way and don't do *anything* until you've charged them for a while on an AC charger (a while can be more than 10 hours in some cases)
22:44:36brobostigongevaerts: ok, so i turn the hold switch, on, and then off? and then press the menu button, then the select button ?

22:45:25gevaertsThen hold both of them for at least 10 seconds
22:46:07gevaertsMoving your fingers too much while doing this is a good way to make it fail, which is why the table is usually a good idea
22:47:43brobostigongevaerts: ok, i have tried that three times, and nothing.
22:49:04gevaertsIs the battery still in reasonable shape in general?
22:49:10brobostigonweird thing is, how can it have drained battery, ie, it hasnt even beeen running, since last battery ,easurement, to have actuallly drined the battery?
22:49:45brobostigongevaerts: yes, i have only used it a couple of times in the past.
22:50:16plushgevaerts: my ipod keeps getting stuck in weird states so much, i can do this procedure in my dream, on the road, behind my back... never need a table either :)
22:50:32gevaertsplush: yes, with enough practice it's easy :)
22:51:25plushby the way: 6e6f0c6 built. so it's some change in the code.
