01:57:14[Saint]Ok, guys and gal(s): I need a ttf font with as much character support as possible (similar to GNU Unifont 16), that looks nice, and is compatible with our licensing.
01:57:20[Saint]Any suggestions?
01:58:04[Saint]The font I am using currently has terrible support for right-to-left languages.

02:20:39[Saint]At the moment I'm using Ubuntu[light, regular, and bold].ttf, but it has very bad support for RTL languages

09:33:23[Saint]kugel: tests with hebrew in particular are absolutely terrible. If you didn't know the menu layout and applied this language, you would have to edit your .cfg by hand or so to get out of it.
09:34:10kugeli would have to do this anyway as I don't understand the language
09:34:24[Saint]SO, yeah...I need a font with wide character support, which also looks nice, that I can build new fonts out of.
09:35:34[Saint]Hum...perhaps I could use Robotto
09:37:25[Saint]Apache 2.0 fits with Rockbox's licensing, does it not?
09:37:47 Quit T44 (Quit: Leaving)
09:37:50kugelso you're saying the font looks so terrible that not even a hebrew speaking person could decipher it?
09:38:16[Saint]Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying.
09:39:24kugelI don't think I could estimate this, I know nothing about this language
09:39:36kugelapache 2.0 is fine indeed
09:40:01[Saint]Rockbox is GPL 2 /or higher/, yes? So Apache 2.0 "just works"?
09:43:52[Saint]Ahhhhhh...dammit :-S
09:44:19[Saint]looks like the fonts are split up by languagae (I forgot this), so, I can't use Robotto
09:45:19[Saint]It would be nice if there was a better way to apply a font conditionally (other than duplicating text viewports).
09:50:28[Saint]the requirement "and be free" also makes this very difficult.
09:50:34[Saint]FOnts are damn expensive.
09:53:12kugelcan you post a screenshot of hebrew in rtl?
09:53:34kugelrobotto is also bad for rtl?
09:57:54[Saint]Not at the moment, and I haven't tried but probably, yes, else my assumption would be that there wouldn't be a need to include a Hebrew font specifically if it did.
09:59:05[Saint]I think the "best" solution is for me to use GNU Unifont, which I have recently discovered has a .ttf version.
10:07:56[Saint]when funman suggested earlier to use GNU Unifont, it completely didn't occur to me that he wasn't talking about the one we already have in the font pack.
10:10:03[Saint]I'll get to work on that at some stage soon, even if I don't end up using it in my theme creating a set of GNU Unifont fonts both antialiased and not, in sizes ranging from 10~60px in 2px increments for the fontpack.
10:10:25[Saint]+would be a good thing.

14:56:11RFroehningJdGordon, regarding the sleeptimer you suggested using INT_SETTING_W_CFGVALS with a proper formatter... if I got it right it should have 3 values then 0,1,2 for off, continue, start?
14:57:20RFroehningbut it think it should be sufficient if it has off and (continue or start), depending on the current status
14:57:48RFroehningsoap, when switched off, it would start the timer from its preset value
15:00:48RFroehningone thing more: i don?t get a grip of the flag setting.... F_TEMPVAR - what should it imply? not being saved?
15:01:03RFroehningcan someone help me out here?
15:02:05RFroehningI am referring to:
15:16:12JdGordonRFroehning: with TEMPVAR it might be ok to not have a seperate continue/start setting, not 100% sure

15:17:15JdGordonotherwise i'd have a play
15:22:59JdGordonand yes, TEMPVAR means that the setting wont actually change (and also the callback called) untill the user actually leaves the option screen accepting the new value
15:23:31JdGordonso if oyu only have "stop" and "continue/start" you have no way of restarting the timer

23:45:38kugelgevaerts: I'm wondering if your gstreamer work could/should be a plugin instead?
23:45:50gevaertskugel: how?
23:45:53kugel(or both for the config ui)
23:46:01gevaertsFor the config UI, sure
23:46:18gevaertsBut otherwise it's an audio driver. Not sure how to put that elsewhere

23:49:04fs-bluebotGerrit review #270 at : Make playlist.c aware of external storage when determining paths by Michael Giacomelli (changes/70/270/1)
23:51:27gevaertskugel: I suspect this would mainly be useful if we ever have a standalone playback engine. You don't really want the UI (at least not permanently) on your streaming server
23:52:07kugelsaratoga_: I'll try to have a look but i don't have much time currently
23:52:44saratoga_the main problem i see with it is that if you put a playlist that refers to files on the main memory onto the sd card, it might break
23:54:01saratoga_but it seems like in ambiguous situations it makes more sense to look on the same disk then on the main memory
