15:52:35chen_On linux kernel versions up to somwhere between 3.2 and 3.7, a change was made to the usbhid driver which sends a GET_REPORT by default. A quirk was added for this particular device somewhere between 3.7 and 3.8. Consequently, if you a running a recent kernel but not the trunk, it will break your device.
15:53:52chen_i am running a ubuntu 3.16, does it matter?

17:16:23pamaurychen_: assuming your are talking about the fuze+ or other imx233 based device, this only matters for the recovery mode
17:17:46pamauryyou can check your kernel version with "uname -a" in a terminal, but again this should not affect you unless you plan to use the recovery mode

17:26:49pamauryI see, the zen uses the stmp3700 for which I don't think the kernel has a quirk. However there are two recovery mode on the zen: hardware and software, you confirm that's the hardware one ? (the screen is black)
