11:43:16foolshsee the sections about setting up gerrit and submitting a change, but lately there's been some contention about that method as the maintaners are out of touch these days, there is a github repo but I don't have the faintest how to go about that way, if you just use gerrit you won't be able to sign in with google at the moment
11:46:03utrackfoolsh: yup, and with steam too. Gonna register at Yahoo at last :D

12:08:13Persitsguys, if multiple devices have the same version number (ie e70ea5d), does it mean that that firmware is the same for all of them?
12:08:22Persitshow is it possible?
12:08:36Persitsall have different hardware...
12:18:37foolshIts just the re-version number, as in what version of the source code was used to compile the firmware
12:19:47Persitsso, the firmware itself is specific per device?
12:20:20foolshyes once compiled for a specific device it will only run on that device
12:20:57foolshbut it helps in debugging to know what version of the code was used to make the firmware
12:29:31Persitsi see, thanks for the explanation...
12:29:46Persitsone more question:
12:31:19Persitshow the version are developed? I mean there are multiple devices... if nobody interested in an old Fuze firmware developing does it mean it won't be updated?
12:34:15utrackPersits: there's common and device-specific code parts. If no one is interested in Fuze then it might not get some new fancy audio codec; however some UI changes or internal logic may be updated in common code
12:37:03Persitsoh, thanks!
12:38:50Persitssome guys have said before that maintainers are out of touch... hm... does it mean the project is stuck? I 've started using RB just two days before and I am fun of it...
12:43:19utrackPersits: don't know about that :) there is some activity. I started using Rockbox around 2009, there was more activity than now for sure... But I won't say that the project looks abandoned :)
12:43:58utrackPersits: I think it's just very stable and nothing much left to improve (without rewriting project from scratch or dropping targets, that is).
