00:19:00ulmutulyes, just tested it :)
00:19:58ulmutulIf I looked at it correctly, CONTEXT_SETTINGS is only used for alarm setting.

00:31:32ulmutulBTW: what's the reason that I cannot make screenshots of a LUA sript? (With the simulator; didn't try it with a real target). Is it a known bug or deficiency?
00:41:25[Saint]I don't believe it is known, and it sounds more like unexpected neglect than a bug.

01:11:56[Saint]ulmutul: incidentally - can you test this on real hardware with the screendump USB trigger?
01:12:46[Saint]The simulator is just that, a similator. It looks convincing and while there is a lot of shared code some aspects are handled in fundamentally different ways.

01:18:33ulmutulI tried to make a screendump of the pixel-painter game ( g#1346). Rockbox took a screenshot, but not of the game screen, but of the game menu I entered later.
01:18:35fs-bluebotGerrit review #1346 at http://gerrit.rockbox.org/r/1346 : FS #11922: Lua game - Pixel Painter by Sebastian Leonhardt
01:19:28[Saint]OK, interesting.
01:20:16ulmutulSame with boomshine: "You made it till level 1" instead of the actual game screen.
01:20:35[Saint]I had thought that screendump just grabbed the current framebuffer, but it sounds like it might actually be intertwined with the display engine for some reason.
01:21:24[Saint]So you are actually getting valid image dumps, they're just not representitive of the current display state at the time of capture?
01:21:53ulmutulI have an idea: I'll try to insert yield() calls!
01:23:06[Saint]looking at the code I was barking up the wrong tree and it does work as I expect it should.
01:23:10 Join Smx [0] (Elite8556@gateway/shell/elitebnc/x-xytkcfrljoesbchy)
01:23:53[Saint]current running theory is that there's a delay caused by the LUA core, but I'm not entirely certain why as I don't really undertand this at the level I need to.
01:24:54ulmutulOk, missing rb.yield() was the reason!
01:26:19ulmutulI guess there's some kind of automatic yield when displaying the menu.

15:31:19pamaurywhat do you mean import them ? They are already on the device you said
15:31:20vincentblacktey are taged properly but names of files have changed
15:31:31pamauryname don't matter if you just use the database
15:32:57vincentblackIt 's not my device and doesn't to brik the device or lost the musics
15:33:40vincentblacki dont want to corrupt something ok ty
15:34:25pamauryRockbox database does not remove or add songs. It simply scan all the songs on the devices and gives you an efficient way to search them.
15:34:46vincentblackan efficient way
15:35:46vincentblackwhat's way?
15:36:38pamauryFor example if you device has two songs. A.mp3 and B.mp3 then the database will lists two songs: A and B. If you add a new song C.mp3 by copying it to your mp3, then the database will find it and now list 3 songs: A, B and C. If you remove a file from your device, the database will not list it anymore. Nothing magically. but also the database scans the tags so you can use it to find all songs that have the same artist or album or year, etc
15:36:55vincentblacki scan and i go just to directoruy apple_control to take the files?
15:37:34*gevaerts assumes that this ipod is not the only place where these audio files are stored
15:37:35pamauryI don't understand. Do you have the device at hand ? Is it running Rockbox ? If so, on the device using Rockbox, just go to Database in the main menu
15:38:14vincentblackyeah i have
15:39:03vincentblackmy friend caling me yesterday and he would to have his music like before
15:39:52vincentblackApple is curious system
15:40:29vincentblackhidden repertories..
15:42:37vincentblackMy friends who having Apple device can't convert a simple files themselves like mp3 to ogg or aac ...
15:43:25gevaerts*why* would you ever convert from mp3 to ogg?
15:43:36vincentblackno it a exemple
15:46:19vincentblacki dont understand why peoples loves Apple everywhere at the planet it's cool but not very simple system
15:48:47vincentblackyour open source system are super i like clear simple and usefull
15:51:51vincentblacki don't have to install something to read videos ?
15:52:43vincentblackplugins perhaps?
15:52:54pamaurywe have a plugin that read mpeg videos but it only reads a small number of codecs
15:54:17vincentblacknot all videos i create a directorie like for the music and the video run but black screen
15:54:35pamaurythe manual says:
15:54:36pamauryThe Mpeg Player is a video player plugin capable of playing back MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video streams with MPEG audio multiplexed into .mpg files.
15:55:09vincentblackok
15:55:43pamauryso you might have to reencode videos if they use a codec like h264
15:55:45vincentblacki must convertwith this details with my videoconverter!

16:18:15homiegwestsideagptek raises my interest, coould someone recommend one?
16:22:15pamaurywell unfortunately there aren't that many currently-being-sold players supported. There some work in progress for new targets but as usual we cannot make any progress. So it depends if you want a new player or don't mind buying second hand or refurbished
16:22:27pamaury*s/progress/promise
16:23:37homiegwestsidemy clip+ fried on me when i tried to charge it abroad
16:24:04homiegwestsidethinking of getting sandisk to repair it if they can but alternatively want a new one with much better battery life
16:24:40homiegwestsidethe clip+ prices have doubled from my purchase in march 2014
16:29:20pamauryyeah the clips prices have increased quite a lot, and the newer clips are not supported

16:53:45dongsyou've been copying it all wrong
16:54:19pamauryI knew it, clearly if I copy the files by hand they will be less noisy and sound better

16:55:11pamauryabsolutely, songs need love, they sound better when they know you care about them

17:01:26 Join wodz [0] (~wodz@iwl138.internetdsl.tpnet.pl)
17:02:47pamauryunfortunately, by definition this is not possible, you need to disassemble your player and the touch the flash with your hand. Only then the Holy Grail of audio will become true
17:04:04pamauryBut at this point you don't really a device anymore, sound will just appear in you ears. I mean the other day I ABXed my Fiio X1 against no player and no player clearly sounded better.

20:34:26lebellium1) Thanks for g#1384. It works on device. I can change the colors in theme settings.

20:34:28lebellium2) As you talked about the alarm setting, I checked it: it doesn't seem to work on R0 and Fuze+, the devices didn't wake up at the time I set.
20:34:29lebellium3) Looks like the manual is wrong: http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-sansafuzeplus/rockbox-buildch11.html#x13-17400011 "Use Up and Down to adjust the minutes setting, Down and Up to adjust the hours". I assume it should be left and right for hours.
20:34:31lebellium4) On YP-R0 we should add keymap left and right. I noticed there were more lines for button_context_settings in Fuze+ than in R0 but I didn't what this was for. Now I know it's for the alarm setting.

23:40:59ulmutulIt only needs to be (re-)defined if it interferes with other button actions.
