17:14:45pamaury__builtin: it was merged in commit 906a95c:
17:15:29pamaurybut in a better way
17:15:46fIorzpamaury: did you have a chance to test that weird tuner offset?
17:16:19pamauryfIorz: ah no, give me sec to find my clip+
17:22:16pamauryfIorz: ok I have it, I'm trying to seek radios but my geographic location doesn't make it very easy, I need to find a station :-p
17:22:31fIorzheh :-)
17:23:29pamauryfrequency looks correct
17:24:07pamauryI've tried two radios, about at 106MHz and one at 101MHz and compared with the official station frequency and it matches
17:24:20fIorzwell, then probably something is weird with this particular device
17:24:51pamauryfIorz: did you try with the OF ?
17:25:11fIorzpamaury: yeah, shows the same offset
17:25:48pamauryoh, so yeah it seems to be a problem with the hardware then, or something that affects both OF and RB.
17:27:39pamauryI wonder if this could be like a bad crystall, it could be slightly off given a slightly wrong frequency to the radio
17:28:05fIorzyeah, that's what I suspect as well
17:28:26fIorzcould maybe also be the reason for the strange distortions with stereo decoding
17:28:40 Quit einhirn (Ping timeout: 260 seconds)
17:28:46fIorzassuming the stereo carrier is also derived from the same crystal
17:29:04 Join einhirn [0] (~Miranda@bsod.rz.tu-clausthal.de)
17:30:15pamauryindeed, the stereo indicator is at a fixed frequency offset after frequency demodulation. If you have a wrong frequency, it might give weird results
17:31:07fIorzunfortunately, I don't have a frequency counter, and it's a bit too close to distinguish with an oscilloscope =:-)
17:32:10fIorzthere isn't possibly some calibration register or something to compensate for crystal tolerances?
17:33:12pamauryNot that I know of, the datasheets specifies the frequency and maximum allowed jitter for the radio
17:33:23fIorzthough half a percent would be quite excessive for typical crystal tolerances anyhow ;-)
17:34:30fIorzis the datasheet public(ish)?
17:35:18pamauryyeah, look for si4701 iirc
17:35:57pamaury'si4701 datasheet' on google
17:50:25fIorzhmmm ... any clue whether that 2^15 Hz crystal is the tin can at the bottom of the PCB (typical "RTC crystal")? or is that what the player's RTC runs on?
17:51:00fIorzthat on should be reasonably easy to swap out and see what happens ...
17:56:22pamauryfIorz: no idea :-/
17:56:41pamaurythough I am sure some hardware guys here might be able to answer
