00:18:31superluig164Alright. Update. Connecting the USB to Ubuntu seems to work fine. After a half hour of screwing around with shared folders I got the files into Linux. I moved them to the desktop, then right-click and "Open Terminal". I tried as root (sudo), without it, different variations on everything, nothing worked. The filename is sbloader_32, and the other one is Help?
00:19:07superluig164I'm not the greatest with Linux. So I am going to need a bit more help than usual... Sorry If I am being very persistent or bothering anyone.

10:38:17duo8the hw might be capable of rb, someone could make a player off that, not sure if it'd be cheaper though
10:39:17wodzduo8: The mantra is "mister Someone is really busy. Want something done? Do it yourself."
10:40:00duo8but do you think it'd be cheap, i think it's $12 for the soc?
10:41:16wodzduo8: I really don't understand the question. Do you want to design cheap dap and run rockbox on it or you want to take some random device from alibaba and see rockbox ported to that?
10:41:44wodzduo8: In large quantity I think the cheapest and simplest solution nowadays is x1000 from ingenic.
10:41:51wodzI mean the SoC
10:42:11duo8i was just wondering if using this in players is practical cost-wise (to make a <$40 player)
10:42:33duo8not planing on anything
10:42:39wodzIn small quantities/available for hobbyists it will still be imx233
10:43:19wodzIf you wan't to make really cheap player you need to design it with this consideration in mind and produce it in large batch
10:43:51wodzIt is not rocket science but quite large investment with poor return

10:44:33duo8the whole phone is $12

12:45:51wodzhmm, I tried to build YP-R0 simulator and it fails with this:
12:48:58wodzbuilding YP-R1 returns tons of warrnings about redefining CONFIG_PLATFORM and then it dies on ' error: #error Unknown storage driver' from firmware/export/hostfs.h:64:5
12:49:58pamaury_probably some screwup in root.make or config.h
12:50:30wodzSo it seems that currently there is no single app target with buildable sim

15:35:26superluig164Okay so here is the return:
15:36:25superluig164Device: 066f:3780 @ 1.6 (new line) libusb: error [submit_control_transfer] submiturb failed error -1 errno=16 Cannot probe transfer size, please specify it on command line.
15:36:49superluig164Is this a problem with using the USB through the VM, or is it something else?
15:36:57pamaury_superluig164: try with:
15:36:58pamaury_sudo ./sbloader_64 -x 1024
15:36:59fs-bluebotGerrit review #164 at : Manual: Describe more generally how to customise the main menu. by Alexander Levin
15:37:10pamaury_it can happen when you run stuff in a VM
15:37:31pamaury_it's a bug of the device
15:38:11superluig164Transfer error at send step 0 error: cannot get status report
15:38:32superluig164Should I try uninstalling the driver from Windows and then doing a passthrough to the VM like Bilgus said?
15:40:35superluig164I can't find where the driver is listen in Device Manager
15:42:26pamaury_I have no idea, I never use windows
15:42:32pamaury_Bilgus_: can you help ?
15:43:03Bilgus_Headed to work but you can use this:
15:44:31Bilgus_find the device note the vendor ID and rightclick choose uninstall
15:44:46Bilgus_I'll check back from phone in a while
15:46:02Bilgus_a green 'light' indicates a currently connected device
15:46:26superluig164I chose uninstall,
15:46:52superluig164Still getting the same error once I connect to Linux and try the command
15:54:48pamaury_superluig164: maybe try that:
15:54:48pamaury_sudo ./sbloader_64 -x 64
15:54:48pamaury_we never know
15:54:50fs-bluebotGerrit review #164 at : Manual: Describe more generally how to customise the main menu. by Alexander Levin
15:55:08pamaury_in doubt you can reset your device and put it in recovery mode again
15:55:16pamaury_sometimes the recovery mode crashes
16:00:35superluig164Will try in about a half hour, I actualy have to pay attention to class now

17:11:56superluig164Yeah nope, no USB screen unfortunately
17:12:05superluig164I guess it didn't transfer enough for that.
17:12:23superluig164I'm going to try it in Windows again, let's see if my recent reboots have helped anything
