00:18:31superluig164Alright. Update. Connecting the USB to Ubuntu seems to work fine. After a half hour of screwing around with shared folders I got the files into Linux. I moved them to the desktop, then right-click and "Open Terminal". I tried as root (sudo), without it, different variations on everything, nothing worked. The filename is sbloader_32, and the other one is fw.sb. Help?
00:19:07superluig164I'm not the greatest with Linux. So I am going to need a bit more help than usual... Sorry If I am being very persistent or bothering anyone.

10:19:17wodzatj213x is mips32r2, memory capacity depends on which ram chip is soldered :-)
10:19:40wodzreference design had 16 o 8MB (can't remember)

10:37:33duo8anyone aware of those cheap creditcard phones? apparently they use a mediatek soc
10:38:17duo8the hw might be capable of rb, someone could make a player off that, not sure if it'd be cheaper though
10:39:17wodzduo8: The mantra is "mister Someone is really busy. Want something done? Do it yourself."
10:40:00duo8but do you think it'd be cheap, i think it's $12 for the soc?
10:41:16wodzduo8: I really don't understand the question. Do you want to design cheap dap and run rockbox on it or you want to take some random device from alibaba and see rockbox ported to that?
10:41:44wodzduo8: In large quantity I think the cheapest and simplest solution nowadays is x1000 from ingenic.
10:41:51wodzI mean the SoC
10:42:11duo8i was just wondering if using this in players is practical cost-wise (to make a <$40 player)
10:42:33duo8not planing on anything
10:42:39wodzIn small quantities/available for hobbyists it will still be imx233
10:43:19wodzIf you wan't to make really cheap player you need to design it with this consideration in mind and produce it in large batch
10:43:51wodzIt is not rocket science but quite large investment with poor return
10:44:22duo8ah no the soc $2
10:44:33duo8the whole phone is $12

12:45:51wodzhmm, I tried to build YP-R0 simulator and it fails with this: http://paste.debian.net/918725/
12:48:58wodzbuilding YP-R1 returns tons of warrnings about redefining CONFIG_PLATFORM and then it dies on ' error: #error Unknown storage driver' from firmware/export/hostfs.h:64:5
12:49:58pamaury_probably some screwup in root.make or config.h

15:04:23pamaury_if you system is 64-bit, it is possible it has no 32-bit interpreter
15:05:15superluig164Hm... To be honest yes I know linux is designed to be a base for whatever you want, but Ubuntu is marketed as user-friendly, you'd think it would include something like that
15:05:33Bilgus_We have a vbox image for dev with rockbox maybe just download that?
15:06:02Bilgus_and the ver I'm running is somewhere around 12
15:06:08pamaury_superluig164: I know, but that's the only thing I can see right now
