06:09:00iceCaltNow I wanted to charge it, do the same old again and upon putting the charger into the socket, i hear some sound a fly makes when getting into electric.
06:09:16iceCaltSeems like no music for me on my sansa :/ gotta order a cable or something later

17:50:34CH23i noticed that when putting the volume of my sansa clip plus to 0dB, and using an external amp, there's barely any hiss. does playing at 0dB bypass the amp section?
18:00
18:00:18lebelliumCH23: I think it's https://git.rockbox.org/?p=rockbox.git;a=commit;h=42219b6e797791e2c037c41393a87513973e4588
18:01:04CH23could that be completely bypassed?
18:01:54lebelliumI don't know. Maybe a dev reading here can answer
18:04:44CH23it looks to me like that's a 'genuine' lineout function, if so, a toggle for lineout in the firmware would be nice
18:05:16lebelliumwe have a line-out on some compatible devices (Fuze+, iPod etc)
18:05:30lebelliumbut the line-out is not active on the other targers
18:05:32lebelliumtargets*
18:05:48lebelliumFuze* not Fuze+
18:06:06CH23interesting
18:08:27CH23the fuze v2 has the same SOC as the clip+
18:09:42CH23don't know about pcb pinout/layout but it seems to me like line out should work on clipplus if it works on fuze v2
18:11:22lebelliumThe lineout is working on Fuzev1 with the official builds
18:11:31lebelliumfor Fuzev2 there is a separate patch: https://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/12074
18:11:39lebelliumfor some reasons it has never been merged
18:11:54lebellium(I guess because it's working as a 'workaround' and is not clean enough)
18:13:43CH23thank you. i'll be back

19:51:48SaratogaLine out doesn't bypass anything
19:52:02SaratogaThat's audiophile nonsense
19:52:31SaratogaHistorically it was just a lower power amp
19:54:14SaratogaOn modern devices they may even just use the same amp
19:55:33SaratogaUsually the difference is that the player detects a connection on the line out pins and uses it to adjust the volume to 0db
19:55:57SaratogaSo you don't blast your ears if you switch from line to headphones
19:56:30SaratogaClip series don't have that feature, and we never implemented it on the fuzev2

21:04:34WaxboiHello everyone :) ! May I ask you some help ? I run a 5.5 ipod with tarkan's quad adapter (4x128 GB Samsung evo). AND. Rockbox.
21:05:36WaxboiProblem is : I have 300 gb of files to put in, but after generaly 30 minutes // 1 hour, the ipod disconnect itself, what should I try ?
21:05:51Waxboi(Reformating etc... already been done !)
21:06:26iceCaltCopy items that takes just 25 minutes, then repeat?
21:06:47WaxboiHm, sounds smart ahah
21:07:24TorCWaxboi: rsync? If you're on Linux/OSX, at least.
21:07:26WaxboiBut it would have been great to avoid spending the next 3 days in front of my computer though
21:07:58TorCIt'll let you run the same command each time and pick up where the transfer broke each time.
21:08:13iceCaltI don't know about how these ipods work in this way, but that's just one way I know of to beat the system.
21:08:21WaxboiOh I see
21:09:00WaxboiYes indeed, in fact, that's what I was going to do, sadly
21:09:12WaxboiCould it be, I don't know, the heat ?
21:09:26Waxboi(I'm on windows, and that's too bad because this feature sound great)
21:10:48iceCaltYou can get Linux running in a VM and have the ipod connected to it
21:10:55TorCAh. There may be a utility that can do the same for windows. rsync is a nifty little copy tool that checks size/timestamp and only does what it has to do to make the dest match source.
21:11:22WaxboiTrue, that could be a solution
21:11:26TorCAnd the VM is a worthy consideration.
21:11:36johnb3rsync is also available for Windows
21:11:58WaxboiReally ? Gonna check this out
21:12:38WaxboiMy fear was that the micro sd cards caused some kind of incompatibility
21:13:45TorCIt's command line, but not too hard. Depending on how you've copied what you have, you might need to use −−size-only for your first run to minimize how much work it needs to do.
21:14:20WaxboiWell I guess I can tweak this :)
21:16:31WaxboiI'll see then if the problem come from the size of the data OR the hardware, which would be a sad waste on expensive micro sd cards ahahah
