00:02:36BilgusI can't imagine that the players that only support gray scale would be a very good playing experience
00:03:32Bilguslike processor wise let alone the display
00:04:57__builtinthe processor on the clip is relatively very fast
00:05:09__builtindoom in fact runs pretty well IIRC
00:06:06__builtinit's just that I don't have a clip right now, so I don't see any benefit to supporting greylib
00:06:07gevaertsSure, but is it playable?
00:06:20__builtinI think it was
00:06:27gevaertsHave you ever seen greylib on one of those mono oled displays?

00:07:13BilgusI'm amazed on the processor part but, idk it seems like a young mans endeavor on the display side lol

13:38:06bodahhi guys. any chance of unbricking a clip+ via the SansaAMSUnbrick wiki method when it all of a sudden (no failed flash or similar) only shows up as an unformatted 32mb device? or does that mean the nand is dead?
13:39:20bodahtried booting into recovery mode by shorting the pins, but still only shows up as 32mb device. dumped the 32mb partition with dd and only got a zero file of that size
13:39:51bodahwriting the OF to the partition via dd did not unbrick the player either :/

14:49:57minusfinally thought i'd do the work to get a theme/font with CJK support and upgrade to the latest dev (from 3.13) today just to see that 3.14 is out.
14:50:16minussong switching performance improved greatly, that's nice to see.
14:50:55minusdiscovering how the theme format looks like gave me a bit of a shock though, but i managed to replace the font
14:52:35minusi was surprised to see that rockbox can handle an SDXC µSD in a Fuze v1 just fine. the SDHC/SDXC must just be a marketing gag
14:56:03minusi've been considering getting another fuze as long as they still exist in case this one breaks; they're not made anymore after all and it seems impossible to find something recent that's as nice. any recommendations?
14:58:15johnb4you can checkout the Sonys listed on the front page. The linux based ones are still work in progress, but very promising.

16:40:34johnb4lebellium: NWLinuxPort: to get from OF to RB I tried what you described as "Plug/unplug it to/from a computer", i.e. just connect it until I hear the connections signal from the PC and then remove it immediately. This takes me to the BL, but when starting RB and continuing with the recent bookmark, audio plays super fast, i.e. is not usable. I have to restart the player. Am I doing something wrong or do you experience
16:40:34johnb4 the same? Of course, I can restart directly while in BL screen.
16:45:06lebelliumdoes it only happen with boomarks?
16:51:34johnb4No comprehensive test yet, but: starting from the file browser it's ok. If the recent bmark is flac, it's also ok. I can reproduce it, if the recent bmark is mp3.

16:52:32johnb4I got this right regarding only brief plug/unplug, don't I?
16:55:02lebelliumI think so. To be honest, I never used this method to switch between OF and RB, it comes from pamaury :P
16:58:51johnb4ah ok, I am also a little worried if this can cause file system corruption. This test was with the A15. I will try others.
16:58:51pamauryjohnb4: I've had this problem before but I have no idea where it comes from yet. Which player is that?
16:59:16johnb4A15
16:59:24pamauryI suspect the recent players can change the sample rate but at the moment the rockbox driver doesn't and expect 44.1Khz
16:59:36pamauryif the Of changes that, this will produce funny results
17:00
17:00:32pamauryI'll try it when I get back from, I'm away this week end and I don't have the A15 with me
17:01:33johnb4What do you think about FS corruption? I put a silicon case on the player, so this approach is kinda nicer than removing it to find the reset hole ...
17:01:49johnb4I am going to check the behaviour of the E585.
17:01:51pamauryno it's not FS corruption
17:02:37pamaurythe root filesystem is read-only by default afaik, you couldn't corrupt it easily
17:02:45johnb4My question was more like: can the quick plug/unplug cause FS corruption at some point in time?
17:03:09johnb4ok
17:04:19pamauryno, the "user" file system is not part of the root filesystem
17:04:46pamauryyou cannot access the root filesystem over usb, thus you cannot corrupt it. If you corrupt the user file system, you can still boot I think

17:10:18johnb4I don't see it on the E585. In the end it's not a big deal as you can always restart the player via the Tools.
