12:16:24CH23in firmware/export/cs42l55.h there's some values I don't understand:
12:16:30CH23AUDIOHW_SETTING(BASS, "dB", 1, 15,-105, 120, 0)
12:16:59CH23what do these numbers represent?
12:17:44 Join defterade_ [0] (~defterade@82-197-194-53.dsl.cambrium.nl)
12:18:40CH233rd column is minimum volume, 4th column is maximum volume

12:19:02CH23i think 5th column is offset?

13:06:57_Bilgusconfig.h #define AUDIOHW_SETTING(name, us, nd, st, minv, maxv, defv, expr...) Its probably not 'volume' but 'value'

14:09:39CH23_Bilgus, thanks. I was seeing if i could have the volume on the 6th gen classic work the same as the 5th gen video, but now i realise that the line out can't be controlled, and -60dB is the minimum
14:14:45_Bilgustypically that is the definition of lineout I'm kinda surprised the 5th GEN allowed you to change it actually
14:15:23CH23same
14:16:12CH23it had some good side effects, I didn't need an amp at all times if i wanted a clear signal
14:16:32CH23could just set it at -89dB and use my regular headphones on line out
14:23:39CH23what chance do i have of blowing circuitry by changing values in driver files
14:28:27_BilgusNo clue I'd say probably possible, but typically lineout is not impedance matched for headphones IIRC its like 600 ohms
14:29:11_BilgusIe your headphones could fry it..
14:31:17CH23ah. never thought much about that
14:31:48***Saving seen data "./dancer.seen"
14:35:30_BilgusI would hope that apple hardware was 'sound' enough to not fry it but who knows
14:40:36CH23have you watched Louis Rossman?
14:40:59CH23because you that will change your ideas of apple's 'quality hardware'
15:00
15:14:29CH23turns out when copying the code for headphone output into the lineout in sound.c, you can have variable lineout
15:14:46CH23some of the integers need to be renamed, but then it works
15:20:41CH23i'll document it later
