09:27:49LoebFor those more familiar with then ipod than me: How exactly do storage limitations work on most models? I know the 1st and 2nd gen classic format to 128gb out of itunes, supposedly due to the 28 bit LBA limit (of ATA5?), but rockbox doesn't care and can use more space if formatted correctly.
09:28:09LoebAnd most other ipods even with the OF will just take as much storage as you can reasonably throw at them

12:33:49speachyin other words, it's not a hardware limitation, instead it's a firmware limitation.
12:34:40speachysince by definition any hard disk larger than 128gb will support LBA48. :)

15:41:00Lonoxmonttheres also some weirdness with block size on certain models of ipod too
15:41:15Lonoxmontlike 5.5 video uses 2048 bit blocks
15:41:56Lonoxmontnot 100% sure how the actual storage media is formatted, if its really native 2049 or just 512 a susual playing pretend

16:26:31cockroachI think it didn't work right otherwise, but I'm not entirely sure

17:30:05blbro[m]speachy I have a h100 I can try.
17:31:30blbro[m]Also, I have a spare Ondio lying around I'm willing to donate. In case you're interested in an Archos target :)
17:32:36speachyblbro[m], Cool, I kicked off a h100 build with the new toolchain and you can see if it catches fire..
17:33:32*speachy would prefer to just shoot the archos targets in the head rather then attempt to fix them with a newer toolchain
17:33:53speachythe 4.9.4 toolchain results in an image that no longer fits
17:34:39speachyhttp://www.shaftnet.org/~pizza/rockbox-h100-gcc494.zip
17:35:00speachyback up your old .rockbox directory first, etc etc etc..
17:35:34speachybuiilt using git master plus a couple of other patches that only affect mips targets
