02:04:45dratSo I've done a fair amount of digging on the forums and google but have only found hints towards my situation and/or a solution. It seems like the Dev/Nightly builds both have "solved" iFLash adapters for classic 6g, 6.5g, & 7g; But not the dual/quad adapters because of raid0 things? So these users use Apple firmware to transfer files to their iFlash raid0 (and rb simulator for database creation?). So if this is all true, the only reason my iFlash quad (with
02:04:45dratgood microsd cards) 6.5 classic won't work for a library greater than 128gb is because of the lba28 addressing, where a 7g board with lba48 addressing and transferring files using Apple firmware would allow me to use rockbox with a larger library? To clarify, i have a 6.5 classic logic board and an iFlash quad adapter but want to transfer a library of about 500gb (and ideally use a database); would switching to a 7g logic board (removing 128gb apple firmware
02:04:46dratlimit) be enough to solve my issue? Apologies if this sounds like a mess..

08:22:43speachyIt is my understanding that the dual/quad SD adapters behave identically as the single ones.
08:23:46speachythe 128GB addressing thing is independent of the adapter used. I _think_ it's a fundamental limitation of the _apple_ firmware.
08:24:16speachyie if you use solely rockbox, you can use larger capacity drives with no issues.
08:25:09speachythat's indepenent of the SD adapters, which IIRC allow up to the full 2TB of the SDXC spec. (SDUC is >2TB and we don't handle it for several reasons)

08:26:21speachydrat: that said I don't recall there ever being a problem with the iflash adapters and 6g+ ipods. Those used a completely different ATA driver that didn't exhibit the issue.
08:26:51speachybut it's hard to counter word of mouth. :(

08:30:33drattyvm for your reply speachy. also your work on rockbox, it's amazing i've taken so long to discover it. any idea why every attempt at transfers eventually corrupts the filesystem then? i'm relatively skilled (self taught degenerate of ~14+ years) in portable devices and linux, and have done everything i know how to do as far as troubleshooting goes. i've tried every combination of 3.15/nightly/dev and diskmode/apple/rb firmwares. the device parts and cable
08:30:34dratare from EOE.works , the cards have passed checks. I feel really dumb at this point lol

09:19:42dconrad_web_bilgus indeed, build ff98a54c doesn't give the OOM error anymore, though I think it may have broken the "warn before replacing dynamic playlist" option?
09:20:11dconrad_webbut I don't see how that could affect that

10:11:19bilgus_phDconrad i dont think they are related it was hit or miss when i was trying to repro the bug as well though when i tried it now it worked everytime so not sure if IM just not 'right' thing to miss the dynamic replace prompt
10:12:25bilgus_phThen again depending how its setup sysevents can cause a prompt to exit without user input if the events aren't filtered properly
