00:24:50kirvesAxe_bilgus__, thanks for the help... I could find a combination that activates and disables the keylock, but not a way to prevent the default lock key from locking or unlocking the player... in fact I realized this situation is pretty silly: I can always unlock with the default key, but the alternate two-key combo can only unlock if the locking as made with that two-key combo :D

08:55:43_bilgus__kirvesAxe, thats what I was alluding to you need to map the old key lock button to something else either a different function or ACTION_REDRAW or ACTION_NONE
09:00
09:02:32_bilgus__so lets say your orignal lock button was BUTTON_UP you should be able to set the remap like this [ACTION_REDRAW][BUTTON_UP][BUTTON_NONE] or if s lot is mapped to that button already it might be something like [ACTION_REDRAW][BUTTON_UP|REPEAT][BUTTON_UP] or even [ACTION_REDRAW][BUTTON_UP|RELEASE][BUTTON_UP]
09:02:49_bilgus__or if a lot**
09:03:52_bilgus__you should be able to look at the keymap for the device to get an idea
09:06:05 Quit jacobk (Ping timeout: 240 seconds)
09:07:28_bilgus__really the key remap stuff just adds a custom context on top of the existing keymap it has the highest precedence so you just need to create a good enough match that you take control and then you can block anything below
09:08:04_bilgus__except the (power button on some devices)

13:00
13:06:49speachy... should be able to fix it by putting it in DFU mode, running chkdsk/fsck and re-installing the rockbox binaries (ie unzip it to the disk)
13:07:57lavaballdon't i have to open it for that?
13:08:30lavaballbecause right now there is no booting. it turns on and off it seems when i press the power button. like it has a seizure.
13:08:35lavaballpoor thing.
13:08:54lavaballwas a gift from my buddy who moved away. now i killed it! I KILLED IT! It's all my fault!
13:09:25lavaballanyway, i don't have the tools or the conscientiousness to do these things, so if it's any kind of difficult i think it's smarter to get a better thing.
13:09:52speachyno, doesn't require disassembly unless the hard drive is well and truly toast.
13:10:13lavaballwell, number johnny 5 will be pleased.
13:10:48lavaballi see. no 80's kids aboard.
13:10:49speachydon't recall offhand but I know you can find instructions online . usually something like select+menu or something like that.
13:11:09lavaballi was hoping you guys had one of those guides actually.
13:11:16lavaballwell, okay then. i'll see what i can find.

16:40:42_bilgus__kirvesAxe, the keymaps will be in apps/keymaps/keymap[PLAYERNAME].c
16:41:34_bilgus__you should be able to remap the original keylock you just need to find the right match
16:42:19_bilgus__the problem with the power button arises more so that it overrides the whole thing nd shuts down the device from under you
16:44:56_bilgus__looks to me like you should be able to do this ACTION_REDRAW, BUTTON_POWER|BUTTON_REL, BUTTON_NONE if the erosq is your device
16:46:31_bilgus__oh I see it has it in several different contexts
16:46:57_bilgus__so you probably need to block it in CONTEXT_WPS and CONTEXT_STD
16:50:31_bilgus__I'd also try remapping it to something else I don't remember if ACTION_NONE and ACTION_REDRAW are special in some way where they have a lesser precedence but just to be sure try mapping that above to a different action like ACTION_WPS_STOP
16:51:07_bilgus__assuming noththing else worked
16:59:23_bilgus__eventually I'd like to make that plugin record key strokes so you don't have to pick from the list
