I'm trying to install on an iPod Classic 6th Gen 160GB (formatted with: diskutil eraseVolume FAT32 IPOD disk5s1, which seems to be recommended around the internet in favor of newfs_msdos). I'm seeing a lot of talk about having Administrator / root rights under Windows / Linux. Under macOS (Monterey 12.3.1) so I tried to run "sudo open

So when I try to run it as an unprivileged user, the utility reboots and has me hold SELECT+MENU, but when I release it, it says "Device is not in DFU mode...", and Finder shows a popup with "Your Mac needs to download the recovery software for your iPod...." I have tried several times.
