Date: Mon, 3 Jun 2002 17:33:09 +0200 [You] I read all the info and the instructions for making a gcc-elf script using cygwin on windows, but couldn't get through the instructions without getting errors. [Me] Quite now, you only need to compile binutils and gcc since newlib is now discarded from rockbox. [You] I would like to pursue this but only if at least one of the developers has this working and is using it regularly. [Me] It is my case. Just have a working Cygwin (use Cygwin setup to get the most recent cygwin). The only difference is that I formely compiled binutils, gcc and g++ 2.95.3 and not a 3.0.3, without newlib. I recently compile gcc 3.0.3 with newlib following Linus' instructions but newlib fails before installing gcc. So I don't try to run the new gcc but I think it is okay. So just compile for binutils and gcc 3.0.3. they should work. By the way, you should not have to modify the configure files. If so, maybe your binutils or gcc 3.0.3 were badly installed. If you still have a problem, just contact me in private and send me a tar.gz log of you failed compilation.
