I'd say we have one or two vital features left before I can feel comfortable
with using Rockbox-only (I've done the switch completely now and I ain't
going back, but I do miss a few things).

Mainly simple single-song playing, playlist playing and all-dir playing. We
have the Tetris and Sokoban games.

We don't yet have a "while-playing-screen" so we lack a bunch of things you
wanna do while a song is playing. I already pointed out some of these here:

(I think Linus brought some code yesterday to CVS that solves a few of these
items.)

The not using PLAY but instead relying on RIGHT only is mostly a mistake.

The only docs there is, is what you can read on the web site and there's a
miniature file named firmware/API that documents some of the low-level APIs.
This document is in fact a bit "behind" already.

Most people seem to join the #rockbox IRC channel and ask questions to find
out about the details, but I understand that not all people can do this and
that time zones might make it hard for some to catch the developers online
while they're present.

I think I can speak for everybody when I say that it would be *GREAT*.

I can only agree wholeheartedly.

You up to starting on this?
