So unless you want to implement something >that is a lot less complex than an MP3 decoder you could do it... How about reprogramming the recorder's dsp to record uncompressed audio? I've heard some people mentioning this on the list before, and while I know next to nothing about dsp programming, it seems like that might be possible. Is it? If so, it would be a really cool feature, and I know that I personally would use the hell out of it, recording live concerts and band practices, without any lossy compression applied. Just a thought really, just so the rockboxers dont give up all hope of being able to tinker with the dsp. Of course, we need to be able to write to the disk first... :-) Btw, could someone (Linus?) give an estimate of how far into the future mp3 recording is? The only thing keeping me from running rockbox full-time is having to sacrifice the recording feature. Just wondering... - Yusef Napora _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com Received on 2002-07-29 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
