Well, you don't have any choice. If you unplug it, you will eventually run
out of batteries...

Still, don't leave the charger connected longer than about 10-15 hours, and
unplug it if the unit says "Batteries Charged". This is of course when you
leave the unit charging. If you use it while it is charging, you should be
able to leave the charger connected.

And don't worry, the batteries are easily replaced when they are worn out.
