  I had lots of these with the build I did from CVS yesterday afternoon
(Toshiba MK4018GAP disk). With the build I did this morning they're gone,
but I'm still able to reproduce the failed open() with errno 5 (I/O error)
by doing the open just as the disk is about to spin down.
