Subject: Display power-off, larger RAM

Display power-off, larger RAM

Hi folks!

I'm expecting the new DRAM chips within the next week, my soldering iron
is hot and waiting for the neat job of replacing the 2MB with the 8MB RAM
- then I'll finally join the software team to enable support for the
larger memory.

I bought 5 parts which is 4 in spare - I hope not to destroy all of them
in my efforts to find the correct pinning for operation...

When reducing power, how about automatic switch-off of the display? Is
this already implemented? How much mAmps would we gain this way?

And my new 40GB hard drive for my player arrived today, let's see how to
deal with it tonight.

Sehr Wus,
- Matthias
