clR6x8 indeed looks very nice (for a fixed-width font). But it
is not latin-1. Thinking of the upcoming multi language support,
shouldn't the system font be full iso 8859-1?

And the character 'digit 4' is somewhat ugly. I would remove
the serifs, they don't fit at all.
