I thought it may help because there are already quite a lot of sources with unlocalized strings. Some defelopers might prefer to write their code unlocalized (i.e. not use Daniels macros by default). I thought it would be nice if one could automatically convert the old sources. It is of course possible to edit all the files by hand and change the strings to identifiers plus macros. > Why would we want to convert it back again? This was just an idea. I wanted readable IDs at first. Another approach for automatically generated IDs would have been a kind of hash sum of the original string. I think that would have been a bad idea, because finding the IDs in the souces is probably easier if they are "human-readable". I realized that "human-readable" IDs are quite easy convertable back to strings and then I thought it would be nice if the solution was so flexible that any string could be converted to a readable id and back. If you think this is unecessary, I stop thinking about it. It was just an idea. Florian.
