But you can't create your master playlist without a PC either. My point is
that when you would do that, you'd just run the script instead. Can you
explain how the master playlist shuffle is more flexible with this in mind?

This would surprise me. Shuffling a playlist and saving it (from Winamp, at
least, and probably many other players in use) is trivial. I personally
don't use shuffle that often on my jb, because I prefer pre-shuffled
playlists, which are guaranteed to play me something not played before
(unlike various in-the-moment shuffles which could play something you'd
heard before, and equivalently skip something the jb has never played).

Connection to the PC is essential at some point, if only during the upload
period (and your presumed master/slave playlists creations). At that time,
you do your master playlist shuffle on the PC, and transfer it over, just
like any other playlists. I honestly don't see the added flexibility from
doing it on the fly.

[Keep in mind that bookmarking and probably playlist go-to are planned
features, which are applicable to the usage of pre-shuffled playlists.]
