probably a little too obvious but are you batteries ok ? Does it do the same when plugged in through the adapter ?

Have you try to run scandisk on your HD? It might help, who knows...

Sorry. I forgot to mention that I already have done this. I tried RB
1.3/1.4, original Archos 1.27d and none at all, which should result in
1.17i. Didn't help.
