Rockbox mail archiveSubject: Battery usage indications?Battery usage indications?

Date: 16 Oct 2002 11:46:08 -0400 Hi all, Still trying to track down some problems with 1.4 on a JB6000...I love the new features of 1.4, which is why I haven't gone back to 1.3...The crew outdid itself. However... Was there a change in actual battery life or how the firmware conserves the batteries? I can't quite verbalize what I'm trying to say, but it seems that the JB goes through its batteries faster. For instance, I used the JB two evenings ago on the drive home. In the rush, I forgot to take it out of the car and bring it inside to plug it in, but it was (estimating from my experiences with 1.3) at about 95% battery. The next morning, I jumped in the car to drive to work and fired up the RockBox. It came up to the internal firmware, the drive started to spin up and it stopped there. The drive was clicking, and it shut off. I thought that since the unit was powered off, and I had only used it for about an hour and a half, that the batteries were fine, so the drive was failing. Got it home that night and plugged it in, and it came up normally. I was getting over 8 hours of battery life out of the unit, with 1.3. I used it for < 2 hours on 1.4, and left it in the car, and overnight the battery drained. Is this a battery issue or perhaps something wiht 1.4?
