Well.. a happy middle ground may be this:

arling and cameron - song blah
arling and cameron - song bibbidy blah
kruder and dorfmeister - song blah
kruder and dorfmeister - song bibbidy blah
beatles - song blah
beatles - song blah 2
beatles - song blah 3

---- to -----

arling and cameron - song blah
...bibbidy blah
kruder and dorfmeister - song blah
...bibbidy blah
beatles - song blah
...2
...3

Just and idea

this could also be a bad idea too.

I have a folder that has about 200+ songs, and it looks like this

arling and cameron - song blah
arling and cameron - song bibbidy blah
kruder and dorfmeister - song blah
kruder and dorfmeister - song bibbidy blah
beatles - song blah
beatles - song blah 2
beatles - song blah 3

if I turn on the filter then there may be a whole bunch of tracks that
now have the same name. If this is added as an option, it should be
added to the quick menu on the recorder, or some other quick key.
