Agreed.

I was just pointing out that even if the recording noise is partially
electrical, you still have mechanical noise to deal with. Playback dosen't
involve a microphone (at least I don't think it does), so I don't think
there was a chance of the playback noise being mechanical (other than what
one could hear with the device near thier head).

I'm not saying firmware changes couldn't reduce this noise, but I am very
sceptical that it could be eliminated.
