archos 6000 problem

I had the identical problem on the first unit I got from archos. If you're
warrantee is still good, just send it back and get a new one. But I'm pretty
sure it's a contact issue because if you've after peered inside the unit right
where you press to make it work is where the HD plugs in. It seems odd to me
that there are open contacts around there, but I'm no electrical engineer so I
can't say anything about their design. All I know is that, yes, the connection
is bad and I don't know how to fix it.
PS Did you not use their little inconvenient blue bag to put the unit in, and
subsequently had small bangs into stuff? Yeah, me too. =) Out of paranoia, I
cut holes in the bag so it's still a protective cushion but I can also do
stuff like see the screen and press buttons.
