I might add, avr-gcc is a nice port of gcc that works for many ATMEL
microcontrollers, but I'm not sure about the AT Tiny series. They may be
assembler only. But even the AT Mega8 which has about 32 pins is a tiny
device - about 10mm * 10mm * 1mm thick and costs about $5 USD.
