Date: Wed, 5 Feb 2003 21:25:38 +0100 Thank you Robert, you're totally right ;) But I was looking for a name for my webpage hosting the patched Rockbox version, and have been thinking of doing these three branches ... let's see how things are going on. Now I'll do what I was meant to do : a patched release with some tested patches (that means a release I post on my website won't be broken) and a pair of new features. I've seen a lot of posts asking if the maintainer could build a firmware with the patch he made available, and got a little trouble when I wanted to merge them myself. Now that I've got a patched version that really works, I'd like other RockBox users to be able to test and use it. My release is being called Sid, and I append the DD-MM-YY string to know when the release has been compiled. I'll try to keep it up to date as possible, and try to resolve patch conflicts when they happend (there aren't lots of patches available for now, so the task is not too difficult yet). My idea is to provide the latest official CVS source bundled witrh the latest patches, for the end-user. And now that I've heard you developpers speaking, it shouldn't in fact be a good idea to keep my release just next to the official ones, because of the bug reports. ... and I just updated my release :-D Fred Received on 2003-02-05 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
